The Affair (Wanda Maximoff)

chapter thirty five

Wanda pov:

Brooklyn fell asleep after us laying in her room for a while. She looked so peaceful I felt bad for what I had to do next. She had her head laying on my stomach and her arms wrapped around my body. I had to call the principle now so I had to get up from her hold.

I grabbed her wrists and moved them to her side when she started to stir awake. I sighed because I just woke her up and that was not the plan. "Where are you going?" She asked in her raspy voice while trying to grab ahold of my body again, succeeding. "Before it gets to late i'm going to call the principal and resign. She opened one eye looking around the room and letting her head fall back down into the mattress. "Ugh that wasn't just a dream." She groaned annoyed at the situation. "Sorry bubba it's not but hopefully all of this will be over soon. I'll come back in once i'm off the phone. I love you remember that." She picked her head up and kissed my stomach, "I love you too, thank you again." I smiled and left the room making the call.

The call went surprisingly good. I told them I wanted to resign effective immediately and when they heard that I could hear it in their voice that they figured it was because of Brooklyn. Because if the rumors they heard were true the only way for her to not get in serious trouble would be for me to leave because I wouldn't be a teacher anymore. The principle just had one questioned and of course it was about Brooklyn. "One last question before you go." I sighed having a feeling where this would be going, "sure ask away."
"Are you and Miss Brooklyn Bennett in a relationship?" I laughed into the phone, "even though this is none of your business yes we are. And no I didn't force myself onto her we started off as friends and we are both old enough to make our own decisions in life. I'm quitting because quite frankly I actually care for her and when you called her in to speak with you tomorrow over some rumors that a girl started spilling because she was jealous and I would rather leave the school and go somewhere else and not ruin her life. So that's why i'm leaving. I also believe now that i'm leaving you won't need to talk to her tomorrow, is that correct since there will be no issue technically?" I think I stunned them because the line is silent before they cough, "please tell Ms Brooklyn we are sorry on our behalf and there are no issues anymore. You will be missed Wanda." I thanked them and then ended the call.

I sighed out of relief that it was finally over. I mean now I do need to find a new job but i'll figure something out. I don't really need the money right not I could survive for a while thanks to the divorce and the court case. I happily turned my phone off and made my way back to Brooklyn.

When I walked back into the room she was only in her sports bra and running shorts. I chuckled to myself and slowly made my way over to her. Getting closer I could see her back muscles. I laid down next to her and trailed my finger up and down her spine while leaving gently kisses on her back and neck. Brooklyn sighed and flipped her head so she's now facing me. I see her slightly smile with her eyes still close as she says, "how's my unemployed girlfriend?" I chuckled while scrunching my nose. She finally opened her eyes giving me a sleepy smile. "She's doing very well and can't wait for you to graduate to start our lives together." I explained and she moved closer to me. She took her arm out wrapped it around me moving me so i'm laying on top of her. "I can't wait to get out of here and spend the rest of my life with you Wands." Brooklyn said while planting kisses all over my face making me giggle. I pushed her face aside and grabbed her jaw so she was just looking right at me. "I can't wait either love." I said while smiling down at her. She flipped us over so she was on top and before she could attack my lips I said, "also you don't have a minute with the school anymore tomorrow." I said which instantly made her happy. She laid down on my stomach while grabbing my hands and playing with them. Brooklyn hummed and said, "god I love you." I stroked her head and said, "I love you too." She kissed my clothed stomach and we laid there for the rest of the night just being in each other embrace.
