Back to Evelyn's P.O.V

Of course, none of the participants liked the idea of having an exam for etiquette but if they want to become a good Queen they need knowledge of etiquette.

Now participants went to their first etiquette class.

I was faced with other judges that I wasn't acquainted with very well. We agreed that we will have a meeting to get to know each other.

We sat down in the drawing-room where a cup of hot tea or coffee waited for us.

"Is it too soon for the etiquette challenge? I think the challenge was too hard in the beginning." Margaret Nightingale asked me.

"Still, etiquette is necessary to train the perfect Queen. I wasn't the one who suggested the placement of the challenge. It was the producers who decided to have an Etiquette challenge in the first round since it would make the rest of the episodes have a regal like feeling." I explained then I quoted the producer's words then Margaret nodded at my answer.

"Do any of you know what the next upcoming challenges are?" I asked my colleagues.

"Second round the King will have a 30-minute date with each of the contestants and then he will choose three people that he didn't feel a connection with to eliminate," Margaret explained and I noted.

"Next challenge, as far as I know, is to test the combat skills." Alpha Ryan informed me and I tsked at the answer.

It's not the challenge that I would go for. Unfortunately, Kimberly noticed.

"What's the matter is the challenge isn't up to your taste, your highness?" Kimberly tried to provoke me. I used to deal with Violet before and I can deal with her.

"I just didn't expect how well-rounded we are trying to make the future Queen," I answered with a smile and then I took another sip from the cup of tea.

From the judges, I admire Margaret the most since she was young when she became a member of the council. She was often criticized for not finding a partner to settle. She only settled in recently. Nonetheless, I still see her as a strong person who doesn't let anyone's opinion get to her.

I don't know much about Alpha Ryan but I know he came from the previous werewolf royalties.

Their Royal pack was separated into two pieces and soon both packs lost influence and titles.

And for Kimberly Wolfstone, well I can't say much other than she was ranked first in the evaluation, and then she got together with Alpha from who was ranked third previously. I guess she feels the need to compete with me.

Margaret noticed the tension between us.

"Anyway, I've heard that your sister is also participating in this selection, Kimberly." Margaret decided to change the topic.

"Your sister?" I perked up. It sounds very controversial. Kimberly's mood has turned sour but she tried to play it off.

"Weird coincidence is it not? We both got a call from the committee, I guess they didn't mind my sister participating." She wasn't a good actress. It made me believe that she pulled some strings. Though my intuition tells me that her sister wouldn't be able to become a Queen.

Alpha Ryan seemed to be bored of the topic so he decided to add another topic.

"Did you know that the High Priestess will be visiting here to take a look at the participants?" Alpha Ryan suggested a new topic.

High Priestess is a leader of the church that is dedicated to worshipping the Moon Goddess. Usually, she would come after the King had chosen his Queen and she would wed them.

"That early?" Kimberly commented.

"Oh, I heard that she wants to make sure if there are King Damien's soulmate amongst the participants," Margaret commented as she grabbed dessert from the tray and took a small bite.

"That will ruin the selection. Is it not?" Alpha Ryan remarked and I nodded.

"Perhaps, she is worried about the prophecy that was revealed a few hundred years ago?" Margaret suggested and that got me curious.

"What kinda prophesy is it that makes the High Priestess worried?" I was very curious.

"Something about the destined Queen will betray her soulmate and replace the King with her lover." I laughed. I was never a Moon Goddess believer but the prophecy sounds ridiculous to be the truth.

"I'm sorry, I didn't expect that." I apologized but no one took offense.

After our meeting ended most of us departed in our quarters.

After I walked down the hallway the red-haired man approached me.

"Princess Evelyn, I was waiting to meet you." The man spoke with a smile.

"You are?" I asked since I didn't know who he was.

"Forgive me, I'm Eric Smith, the second Beta of Damien Knight." The man introduced himself.

Usually Alpha would have one beta but the king must have two betas. Since Damien has crowned my half-brother Aaron became his first Beta. Though as far as I remember I don't think that Eric Smith came from the Silver Forest pack.

"If you wanted to meet me you could have asked my assistants for the appointment," I suggested but Eric shook his head.

"I'm afraid that I would have to wait very long if I had an appointment with you." I sighed and signaled the assistant who stood next to me to find an empty lounge room where I could talk with Eric.

"So why did you want to meet me?" I asked Eric.

"I simply wanted to get to know you better since we are both raised by the sirens, your highness. Also, I had a question for you."

"I have two things to say to you. First, I need to remind you that I have a husband. Secondly, I did notice that you have the same speaking mannerisms as sirens." Eric chuckled at the first one.

"I understood. I wanted to ask, why did you start with the etiquette challenge?" I can only deeply sigh. I guess he is not the only person that wasn't aware that most of the decisions are made by producers.

"I only suggested the challenge but producers are the ones who arranged the order," I explained.

"Ah, that's troublesome."

"Why so?" I ask.

"The thing is Damien lacks matter, it will be troubling if the participants become more mannered than Damien on the second round," Eric explained and I giggled.

"I guess you will need to arrange tutoring for the King."

Though I was worried about the pack's future after Alpha Frank had died, I was more confident with the new Betas.
