Tine's POV (Present — 2017)

"When you said you had a place in mind, I didn't think you would bring me to a place like this."

Sarawat said as we perched down on the ground with the city lights glistening in front of us. I took him to a clifftop a little outside the city, from where I could see the entire city clearly. We parked the car on the side of the car, and sat down near a tree. It used to be my happy place, once and tonight, tonight I just wanted to make some happy memories with him.

It felt nice. It felt quiet. It felt comfortable.

"What were you expecting?" I asked.

"I don't know — probably some fancy restaurant — Japanese, Italian or, French."

I chuckled. "In case you haven't noticed Sarawat, I can't afford fancy places. And sure I do like them but we have dinner at those kinds of restaurants almost everyday so I thought this might be a good change in scenery..." And that's when I remembered something. We go to restaurants like that way too often."Wait a second — Have you been taking me to all those different restaurants because you thought I liked them?"

"No, I took you to all those restaurants because I know you like them. I realised that the first time we had lunch together at the Sushi place in the mall. I am a fast learner, Teepakorn."

I sighed looking down at the food in front of us. "Now I feel terrible bringing you here. You took me to all those places and I bring you in the middle of nowhere with just some burger and fries."

"I love it, Tine." Sarawat Circled his arm around my waist, "It was a bit unexpected but I love it. How did you even find this place? Do you come here often?"

"I used to come here often. I used to come here often when my life wasn't in the dumps. God, my life was so boring and monotonous, coming here seemed like the most exciting thing I had ever done." I dropped my head back laughing. "Now I can't seem to catch a break." Shaking my head, I took a bite out of the fries and continued. "When Fong introduced me to this cliff, I thought it was the most beautiful view of the city — I wanted to bring you here because I thought you would like it to."

"Its really nice, Tine." Sarawat smiled and scooted closer to me. I could feel the heat radiating from him. "Fong.. he is your friend right? The one I met in college?"

"Yep, that's Fong. You have seen my other friends too, right? Ohm and Love?"

"Yeah I remember meeting them — Why do they always eye me so weirdly every time I come by your department, especially Love? It genuinely gives me the creeps." Sarawat raised his shoulders in confusion.

I laughed. "They think I am dating you and hiding it from them."

"Well.. " Sarawat smirked. "I should at least inform them that I am definitely trying my best to make that possible."

I didn't respond. Instead I stared out at the city lights. I was too afraid to look at him.

"I like your friends." He said. "Definitely like your friends. May be I should meet them more often."

"May be you should. Remember who my friends our Wat... one day if I disappear and you can't find me anywhere.. start by asking my friends."

"What's that supposed to mean?"

"Nothing. Its stupid." I shook my head left and right. Put my hand on Sarawat's thigh and sighed "Nevermind. Its just stupid stuff."

We stared down at the city lights in silence. I could feel Sarawat's hand resting on my waist and I couldn't remember the last time I felt so much at peace.
