Tine's POV

"Tine's, its time."

I put my coffee down on the kitchen island. This was the third time Sarawat had reminded me that I needed to leave. But I didn't budge. I didn't want to leave him yet. I wasn't ready to leave him yet. So, I just stood there staring at him.

Walking closer to him, I put my arms across his waist, trying my best to hide my tears. "You will wait for me at the apartment all day right?"

"Of course, I will be here, Tine. I'll wait for you here. If the accident happens, it happens. There is nothing much we can do about it after today — But we can still save you. If things go wrong, you will find me here."

I broke the hug and looked into his eyes. "What if I can't save your father? What if you hate me after this??"

"No Tine...." Sarawat ran his hands through my hairs. "You have done everything you can. I have gotten used to not having my father around. There is nothing left for me to lose here — and everything to gain.

But right now, you need to leave Tine or you will get late."

"Wat I..."

"We are not doing any big speeches right now, Tine. Its going to be a long day. You remember our plan right?"

"Yeah, I do."

Sarawat put a soft kiss on cheeks and took a step back, unable to look me in the eyes. "You should go, Tine.

I left the apartment with a heavy heart, driving Fong's car to the bakery, where I was supposed to meet mom at. I borrowed his car to make sure I was able to get to Sarawat's house on time. This wasn't the day for any contigencies.

There were more cars than usual outside the bakery and I somehow managed to find a good parking spot. But when I got there inside, I realised mom hadn't arrived, which was weird because she always came before me. I tapped my fingers on the table for a few more minutes, waiting for her before finally picking up my phone.

This was weird and it wasn't sitting right with me.

So, I called mom and I kept calling her multiple times. But she didn't pick up my calls.

For a second my heart sank— She wouldn't have gone to the college yet, right? No, she had no reason to go to the college. We were supposed to meet her.

Feeling jittery and nervous about the whole thing, I decided to call Uncle Thipat.

"Hello? Tine?" I finally breathed when he picked up the phone.

"Hello Uncle Thipat? I have been trying to reach mom but she isn't picking up her phone. Is she still at home or has she left?"

"Yes she is at home, Tine. Actually your... your father is here."

"What? When did he come back?"

"He came back early in the morning today. Tine, I am not sure if I should tell you this but I think they are fighting since he came back. They are in your dad's study right now. The door is closed, but I can still hear the yelling."

"Dammit. Can you make sure mom doesn't leave the house? I will be there soon." I disconnected the call and got up.

Of course Dad was here today. Now, everything was starting to make sense in my head. He was the trigger for the accident. That is why, the accident kept happening no matter how many times I met mom before — because he made her leave the house. He did this to her. Why was I even surprised?
