There was only five of us left, we would spend our days searching houses for food and weapons, We split into two groups while looting, We did all we can to survive, we've lost everything, Rios father was apart of our group, He got eaten alive by walkers, That happened 2 days ago.

I scavenge through cupboards in a house, It had some tins of food left, I grab the tins and put it in my backpack, I look through the other cupboards to just see some cleaning supplies that had been almost used up, filled with mold, I ignore them and shut the cupboards

"Found some food!" I yelled to Jayce who was searching the living room, the other three was in the house next door, I grab my backpack and walk upstairs with my knife in my hand being prepared for any walkers that could've been up there, I see a bunch of books scattered across the floor, Boxes piled on top of each other, newspapers scattered everywhere, Chalk and crayons were tipped on the floor, I look at a door with writing on it

"Walker inside, got my shoe, didn't get me"

I put my ear to the door, I hear the faint growling of the walker, I look down at my knife that was barely used, Everytime I saw a walker Mark always gets it, I lift my knife and open the door, The walker instantly comes at me, I stab right through its brain, the walker falls down as I remove the knife

I look down at the boot that was on the floor with a small bite mark imprinted on it, I look around the room and drawers trying to find supplies, I give up after finding only useless things, I leave the house with Jayce and my backpack, Rio, Mark and Max were just finished with the house beside us

"Come on let's find some place, We only have a few more hours of daylight" Mark said adjusting the strap of his backpack on his back, Everyone agreed and we carried on moving, I kick a large pudding can that was thrown in front of a house, Max glared at me in annoyance, I take a quick glance at the house and carry on walking

We haven't found a place to sleep, The sun was setting, we wasn't even in a neighbourhood anymore, We was walking on a road, a sign was in the distance for a neighbourhood, "Come on we might find a house to stay for the night" Mark pointed at the sign

We follow the sign, we arrive at a abandoned neighbourhood, I could barely see in the dark we went in the first house we saw, "You better wait outside, I'll check for biters" Mark told us as he banged on the door, "Why can't we try, I mean I've only killed eleven walkers" Max complained

"You're seventeen, I'm thirty eight" Mark said just before he opened the door and shut it behind him, I hear a body drop on the floor, The door opens Mark leads us inside and we go in the upstairs room, We all placed down our stuff by the side of us, there were no other bedrooms, We all had a blanket each

"Why can't we just stay up" Jayce asked, Mark sighed "We need the energy, You know this" Mark said, Jayce was always suggesting things like that, I thought that too, but never spoke because I knew Mark wouldn't let us, "Why?" Jayce exclaimed, "We need the energy, I told you this, We need to find more food" Mark repeated

"We have plenty of food" Jayce scoffed, "Jayce just shut up" Rio shrieked from her side of the room, "I'm trying to sleep" She added, Jayce sneered and went to sleep, I went to sleep shortly after on the hard wooden floor

I wake up by someone shaking me, It was Rio "Come on we gotta go, There's a group of walkers heading our way" Rio told me, I furrow my eyebrows, Rio goes to wake up Max, I get up and fix my hair, Soon after we all had our backpacks on our back and was ready to leave, We all leave the house and sneak away from the many walkers heading towards us

We walk to the side of a house only to be greeted by a walker, I grab my knife from my holster and was about to kill it but was stopped by Mark he stabs his knife in its brain "I had it" I scoff, "You're way too damn young for this, give it a few years" He told me, I frown, I glare at who was just as annoyed as I was, "We gotta split up, Ja-

"No we're not splitting up, That killed my dad" Rio said sharply, "He went on his own without telling us, that's on him" Mark spoke back, "Whatever, I'll go with Mark" Rio stepped forward, "Jayce you go with Nyla again, Max come with us" Mark said, Max walked by the side of Rio, "We need more water, You both find some, We'll look for weapons" He told me and Jayce, We all split up

Me and Jayce walked through the woods and went to the other neighbourhood, "I say we ditch them and never return, I'm sick of Mark" Jayce suggested, I glare at Jayce, "We'll die without him, He's the one who protects us" I told him

"We'll protect each other" He told me, I open the gate of a house ignoring Jayce, We walk into the first house, After I kill the walker that was in the living room we make it to the kitchen, I search the cupboards, Jayce searched the dining room, "Only cutlery" I sighed, "Why don't we just give the little bitch pond water" Jayce said leaning against the door frame, "There ain't even ponds around here" I told him, He shrugs

After finding two bottles of water we start to make our way to the other neighbourhood where Mark told us we will be meeting, I walked in front of Jayce and started to lead him to the neighbourhood, A few minutes after I look behind me, I see nobody, I stopped "Jayce?" I called, I sprint back and look for Jayce, I should've kept an eye on him, I knew he wanted to leave this group

"Jayce!"

I felt guilt crawling inside of me, I start looking in the houses for him but the only thing in there was walkers, I grab my radio from my pocket and change the channel, "Jayce? Where are you?" I said through the radio, "I've been looking for you for ages" I added, "We've been waiting for you for ages" I heard through the radio

"Jayce?" I ask, "No Rio, wheres Jayce?" She asks, I look around me, "He must've ran away" I sighed, "Whatever, just come back" Rio said, I hesitate but proceed to make my way back, I take a short cut by walking in between two houses and find the others, "Jayce, He went" I immediately said

"I told him if he goes we're not going to go looking for him because if that's what he wants, we find him he's not gonna come, So leave it." Mark said, I furrow my eyebrows "But" I start, Rio nudged my shoulder, We make our way to the house we stayed at yestersay, "Well did you find anything?" I ask "Nothing" Max told me, "Hard to find anything nowadays" Max added
