Chūnin Exams

~in the morning~

(Y/N pov:)

I woke up to the sun shining right on my face. I lazily got out of bed and went to the washroom. After my normal routine and breakfast, I changed into my daily ninja gear and headed to the training ground. Reaching there, I saw that everyone was already there.

"Y/N, you are late." Kakashi said in a slightly angry voice.

"Chill out, Kakashi sensei. You can't be angry at your girlfriend like this." Naruto said with a giggle.

"Sorry, sensei. It won't happen again." I said with a bow trying to stop my laugh.

"Good. Oh, and Naruto. Even if she was my girlfriend which she is not, I told her specifically to not be late today." Kakashi said hiding his emotions.

"Now, that you all are here." He continued,"There is an announcement for you all. The Chūnin Exams are starting in 2 days. I have selected you 3 to take the exams. If you don't want to, you can back off."

"Oh hell no! This isn't a team which would back off from any challenge. We will take part and we will become Chūnins." Naruto said with his optimistic smile. We both nodded.

"Okay, then. Here are the forms." Kakashi gave us the form. We filled it out and started training. For 2 whole days, we did as much as we could. Naruto went on with Ebisu sensei to train hard. I trained alone and Sasuke was with Kakashi.

I worked on my water jutsu. By the end of the 2 days, I was able to create water chidori and water bullets immediately. The water dragon needed half a minute. The next day, we went in for our first exam: The written exam.

The exam went smoothly and all 3 of us passed it with flying colors. The next exam was in the Forest of Death. So, we trained for the rest of the day. In the morning, we headed to the forest together. We did all the formalities and the exam was about to begin. The gates opened and we walked in.

A team attacked us while we were walking to the tower. We defended ourselves easily. Sasuke with his Sharingan. Me with the water bullets and Naruto with his shadow clones. We got the heaven scroll that we needed and headed to the tower. It was a whole day and a whole night long trip with no distractions other then a few creatures of the forest.

Reaching the tower, we had the final round. This time they were promoting more than 5 people to Chūnin. So, whoever passed these rounds was to be Chūnin starting that point on. First round was between Sasuke and another hidden leaf Genin. He passed pretty easily. 2 matches later, it was Naruto against Kiba, one of our classmates. Naruto passed too.

Next was me against a sound village ninja. As I was about to move, Kakashi grabbed my arm. I looked up at him. "Take care. The floor is solid concrete. You won't be able to do any water style jutsu here."

I smirked,"Don't do this mistake, Kakashi. Don't underestimate me. You'll regret it heavily." I left him with his eyes widened in shock and jumped down in front of my opponent.

"This frail girl? You have to be kidding me. Just give up. I don't wanna hurt you." He said mocking me.

"Sorry, but right now, I wanna see some bloodshed. Let's see how much you have in your body." I said with a smirk.

The whistle blew and we jumped back away from each other. I started by pushing my chakra through my feet into the ground. Kakashi was right, there is not much water. I threw a kunai at him to get me some time for taking out the sword. He dodged the kunai and before he knew I was running towards him with my sword in my hand.

With every step of mine that touched the ground, I left some of the chakra in the soil through the concrete. He stopped my sword with his kunai. He started with his attack with the kunai and I dodged it every time. With the right chance, I attacked at his arm. It was too fast for him to dodge and he got a cut on his shoulder.

With the other hand, I sensed the amount of water in the soil. When it felt enough, I brought it together with the hand but still inside the soil waiting for the right time to use it. I stood a few feet away from him. When I saw him splashing a beam of sound towards me, I quickly placed my palms on the ground. My chakra increased the amount of water and a water wall came in front of me just in time.

"Incredible!" I heard third hokage and other jonins scream. "Yeah! Go, Y/N!" I heard Naruto.

After the sound beam stopped, the water wall dropped down creating a puddle of water. The water still had my chakra in it so I can use it anytime I want. We exchanged a few more blows with kunai and sword. I made a few more cuts on his arms and legs, one on his cheek too with his kunai.

"Seems like you can shed more blood." I smiled evilly. He was fallen to the ground holding his shoulder. He tried to attack again but failed and fell. I collected the water on the palm of my hand. With a click of fingers, I turned all the water into water bullets. "Now, to end this." I said as I darted them towards him at full speed. One went through his arm, one through his stomach and one stopped right in front of his eye. I let the third one turn back into water.

"I guess that's enough. I don't wanna kill you." I said putting my sword back in its cover. The proctor declared me the winner and I went back up.

"Wow, Y/N! You were amazing! So much bloodshed and not even single injury on your body." Naruto said hugging me. I hugged him tighter,"Thanks, Naruto." We parted and got back to where Kakashi and Sasuke were.

"I never thought that was possible. How did you even do that?" Kakashi asked. His voice still reflected disbelief.

"I just kept that as a backup. I was just about to use my lightning style. Since, water is my specialty, I searched for it just in case I can get some. I did, so I used it as my defense and attack." I smiled. He relaxed and smiled back. Our eyes went back at the ground.

After all the rounds, the people were announced who got promoted to Chūnin. Me, Naruto and Sasuke had their names on the list. Naruto jumped with joy. After all the announcements, we went to Ichiraku to celebrate. After eating, Naruto and Sasuke left. I was alone with Kakashi. I have a feeling they did that on purpose.

(Kakashi pov:)

The way she fought with that guy, it looked so fierce and awesome. Just the part of her I love. Nothing more, nothing less. Also, during the days of the training, I had talked to Master Jiraiya about what his old friend, Orochimaru was planning. He already knew about it all but didn't know who the girl was.

I did say that I will make her meet him but I don't want her to go alone. Knowing how he is towards beautiful women like Y/N, I don't. Not even in a million years. I don't want him to be with her alone.

We were left alone at the celebration, probably on purpose but I was happy. I slowly leaned towards her,"There's someone you would like to meet, Y/N." I said in a way that only she can hear. She slowly put her bowl down and whispered in a way only I can hear,"The only person I would wanna be with right now is you." She said with a slightly evil voice putting her hand on my thigh. It's the same smile she gave me when we made a deal of sleeping in one tent in exchange of me showing her my face.

I smiled and blushed a little,"Okay, night together. It's one of the sannin so, meeting him first would be better." Her hand dropped slowly as her expressions turned from flirty to that of anger with a bit of scared. We finished and headed to the river. We met Master Jiraiya there.

"So, this is Y/N?" For the first time, his eyes weren't popping out in the presence of a beautiful woman. I was surprised but I guess he knew the level of threat. They both sat and started talking about Orochimaru. I stood a bit far reading my book leaning on a tree. I wasn't really into knowing about that snake guy. Knowing he wants to snatch away my princess from me, anger took over me everytime I heard his name.

I kept an eye on them too so that Master Jiraiya doesn't do anything to my love. Or maybe I guess I just wanted to catch glances on her. Her expressions were bouncing between angry and scared and worry.

(A/N: 16th Chapter!! I know I rushed the Chūnin Exams but they didn't really matter. The next chapters are where the real stuff starts and I don't wanna wait anymore! 😁)
