True Love Hurts (Kakashi x Reader)

The Akatsuki

(Y/N pov:)

A man with orange hair and piercings all over his face came out from the bush. He was wearing a black cloak which had red clouds on it. He stepped forward closer to me and I stood up with the help of the tree. I supported my back with the bark of the tree and put the sprained ankle foot on the bark to calm the pain.

"Who are you?" I asked in a calm voice still gripping my kunai.

"I heard you have been declared as a rogue ninja. I guess you are right now on the run from your own village, the hidden leaf." He said in a calm voice.

"What does it have anything to do with you?"

"You are one of those shinobis who don't know what else to do if not being an honest shinobi to your village." He said advancing towards me.

Hearing this, my grip on the kunai loosened and I zoned out to whatever he said further.

A smirk appeared on his face, "I'm Pain from the Akatsuki. I've known about your powers for a while now and we have been watching you."

"What powers are you talking about?"

"Your exceptional amount of chakra, that's what I'm talking about."

"It's just something I grew up with. It has nothing to do with anything." I said gripping back on my kunai but putting it away from in front of me.

"Seems like you don't know anything about it. Let me fill you in on that. After that, I'll explain what I'm here for. Then, you can think about it."

"5 minutes. If you exceed the time limit, you can go."

"Just like I expected you to be." He said with a smirk.

"Time starts now."

"Well, I've studied about your capabilities. It turns out it was a curse by one of the spirits on your family. To stop the chain of curse, they stopped being a shinobi and confined them to become ordinary civilians. But, seems like there was more to the curse which made their recent generation that is you to have this exceptional amount of chakra which in future can get out of control killing everyone in his/her contact. It can wipe from a person upto a whole village."

My eyes widened hearing the entire truth about my powers, "What do you want from me? Here to kill me?"

"Every curse can be converted into a blessing." He continued, "I'm here to help you do that if you are willing."

"What do you get out of this?" I said staring in his purple swirling eyes.

"Everyone's dream. The goal of the Akatsuki is to bring true peace to this world."

"What do you want me for?"

"We need all the tailed beasts to achieve this dream. Your powers, if gotten under control will help in the goal."

"What will you change me into?"

"An immortal being. Your powers with the right type of training can turn you immortal in turn making you the strongest in the world. You will be undefeated. In return, we only ask your help in attaining true peace. Join us and you will be able to wipe out leaf village who turned you into rogue ninja when you were not at fault."

I smirked, "Not gonna lie, you had me in the first half. I was making up my mind to come and join your group. You messed up at the last point. I don't plan on getting revenge on my village. They did what they had to. The village still hold the people that I love. Taking away their village or killing them? I would never do that or even think of doing that."

His eyes questioned me.

"Call me dumb but that's just who I am. They helped me when my own father turned against me. I would rather die then killing any one in the hidden leaf village."

"Very well, then. The offer will stand whenever you like to join." He said and turned away, "My 5 minutes are up so I'll be going now. Think about it again, Y/N." Without letting me reply, he went away.

Like I would ever try to join them. But, I have to do something for now. I can't just sit here the rest of my life.

I sat back down while wrecking my brain on what to do next. It's been 2 days since I left the village. That means, Kakashi would be back in his conscious. And, has probably started hating me. I should not go in the leaf village again. But, I want to meet him. I want to make sure he's alright. This is so frustrating. What if I just take a peek at him and not really meet him....? He wouldn't know, would he?

(Kakashi pov:)

I woke up to a sharp pain in my shoulder. I looked around me to find myself in the hospital. A lady entered the room just then. Looking closely, I realized it was Lady Tsunade.

"Oh good, you are awake!" She said with a smile and stood beside me. Her hands on my shoulder, "How is the pain?"

"It's better then before but it's still a lot."

"It will be fine after 5 days of rest. You can go home today." She said and started to walk away.

"Umm...Lady Tsunade?" I said hesitantly.

"Yes?" She turned around.

"What happened after I fell unconscious?"

"All I know is that..." Her smile disappeared, "Y/N was chasing down Kabuto but then, she found us and took me to you to start your treatment. After that, she was being arrested so she ran away."

"Oh..... thank you." I said and looked away.

Everything that shouldn't have happened, happened and I couldn't do a thing against it.. And, now...she is just out there somewhere hiding from everyone.

"Why was she being arrested? Do you have any idea?" She asked cautiously breaking me out of my thoughts.

"The jonin meeting declared her a rogue ninja for something she had to do to protect the leaf village." I said with a neutral look hiding my sadness.

"That's what I've been told. Since she ran away, I can't do anything against it. She chose the path for herself."

"I understand." I nodded and she went out.

So, I guess....that was the last time I could be close to her. She's never coming back, that's for sure. I wonder what she is planning to do next? Should I go and find her? Or should I just let the fate do it's thing? I just hope she's alright.

I went back to my house and laid back to take the advised rest. I sighed, "I'll never see you again, will I?" I whispered to myself as her face started flashing in front of me.

I looked out of the window trying to find the bright side to this. There was no bright side. I had lost her forever now. I can never touch and love her the same again. I can never talk to her the same way. And, I definitely can not spend time with her the same way. Ever. Again.

I have yet again lost everything. After all these years, for once, I thought I found happiness again. I thought I have found stability in my life again. And, this is what happens. I lose her.

Tears started coming out of my eyes and quickly my sobs turned into cries but I muffled them by pulling the sheets over me. I let it all out. All the feelings I've been building up for the past years. I just wanted her to be by my side and nothing else. Everything else seemed worthless. I just wanted to be with her and love her. Something that can never happen.
