chapter 12

my arms were finally healed, i hadn't hurt myself for 3 weeks. i was proud of myself. and nicky wasn't worrying to much, she wasn't as stressed. She was...happy, happier then usual. Red was proud as well. 

i felt better then usual, i felt healthier and lighter as ever. yes, i was still sore but it didn't hurt, i felt good.  no more bandages, my arms weren't tight. It didn't hurt when i crossed my arms or carried things.

i was finally getting better, i was healing.

i groaned as i rolled over, Nicky was climbing into my bed. It was the middle of the night. i rolled over and faced her, nudging my head against her chest

"shh, go back to sleep baby.." nicky softly whispered to me

i kissed between her chest "what're you doing awake?" i asked

"hm i missed you to much baby" she quietly chuckled, she stroked my hair and kissed the top of my head 

I fell asleep several minutes later, she pulled the blankets over both of us making sure i was covered and she fell asleep cuddling me.

the sunrise was bright today, nicky woke up but i stayed asleep. She didn't bother waking me up. She slowly got out of my bed making sure not to wake me up.

"when you'd sneak in?" alex asked as she looked at nichols

"12. couldn't sleep." nicky replied as she pulled the blanket over me. She yawned and stretched

"gotcha. it's nice how much you care about her. she loves you nicky. i see it in her eyes"

"thanks vause." nicky walked over to her cube to grab her shower caddy before walking off to the bathroom

i slowly began to wake up, i rolled over and sat up and i looked for nicky. my face saddened to see her missing from the cube.

"she's in the bathroom" alex looked at me

i nodded at her and smiled a bit "thank you alex."

"yeah."

"hey! thanks man. these are my favorite" i shook around a bag of jolly ranchers that boo owed me.

we were sitting in the cafeteria since it was breakfast. Nicky walked into the cafeteria smiling as she does. the rest of the family was already there eating. i opened the bag of jolly ranchers and i popped a grape flavored one into my mouth and smiled.

"yeah. make 'em last. it took a lot of commissary for that bag" she replied before taking a bit of her slop

nicky placed her hand on my bag and she sat down next to me, she kissed my cheek.

"hey why're you late? do you want some food?" i asked

"shower line was just long, i'm not hungry" nicky replied

"sure about that nichols? you weren't screwing anyone? that's a first." boo said

"boo shut up. i've got a girlfriend, that i love very much." she looked at me and she kissed my temples, i smiled back at her
