Chapter 6: About The House of Owls

Myra POV

"It's pretty tough finding a job so that we don't end up getting evicted from the apartment." Greg said as he scrolled through various job applications on his laptop.

"Hmm." I replied absently as I sat on the windowsill and gazed out of the window. 

"Are you alright?" Greg asked.

"I'm just worried Shaun. He's not himself."  I sighed.

"Well, he just lost almost all of his friends back in our headquarters. Give him time." Greg said. 

The door opened and Shaun walked in.

"Hey." I said. He smiled sadly at me before he sat on the sofa and flicked through the channels. 

"Wait. Go back to the previous one." Greg said. Shaun changed to the news, showing portraits of Ladybug, Chat Noir, Rena Rouge, Purple Tigress and Pigella.

"Since when did they start robbing banks?" Greg asked.

"They didn't." Alex's voice said near the door. We looked and saw a scowling Alex along with his friends.

"I didn't here you come in. Nor did I let you in." Shaun said.

"We want to know what the hell are you guys hiding from us. Like who the hell are The House of Owls." He said.

"Where did you get that from?" I asked.

"Rodrigo said he heard it from somewhere. You want to tell us more about them?" Luka said.

Shaun sighed. "Alright, we'll tell you."

After telling them who are The House of Owls, their relationship with The Brotherhood of Light and their mind controlling chips, Alex nodded.

"But there is something that doesn't add up. How are Hawkmoth, Spade King, Miracle Queen and Volpina alive? I thought they've been placed in the cemetery."  He said.

"Now that is something we do not know about." I said.

"Maybe they faked their deaths?" Zoe suggested.

"No. I sent a blood sample of Spade King when we fought to the hospital. It was a match. Without a doubt, they're alive." Alex said.

"Still, that doesn't explain how they're alive." Tina said. 

"Or even how they even got akumatised." Nino said. Then, he gasped. 

"What is it?" We asked. 

"Mari's parent's were taken to the hospital, right?" He asked. We nodded.  He continued 

"Did we think about how they got injured?" 

"They said someone broken into Marinette's room and took something." Tina answered.

"What was the object?" I asked.

"I think it was some sort of box. Shaped like an ovoid. Is red with black spots. Kinda like a ladybug." Tina said.

"Oh-" Alex gasped.

"-Shit." Nino concluded.

"What? Was I wrong?" Tina asked.

"No. It's worse than I thought." Nino said.

"They have the Miracle Box. And the miraculous." Alex added.

"So? How screwed are we?" Rodrigo asked.

"On a scale of 0 - 10. I'd say we're at a 8.5." Zoe said.

"But it's not just Hawkmoth who's got it. It's The House of Owls we got to worry about." I added. 

"Ok. 9.5." Luka sighed.  

"Nah. we're screwed. Royally." Alex said.

"And what's worse. We don't have the man power to fight back." Nino said.
