2 Weeks Later

Caleb has been back home for a bit now, things are good. He still has games but nothing that's far enough away where he can't come back in 1-2 days. After class Millie sat in her study hall room and were grading papers. This Maria girl was sweet, 98% she wrote in red pen on the top of her essay. Wow, that story I published got 10,000 reads. A bunch of scammers call saying they wanna buy the idea and publish it themself... until now. We got a call from Mrs. Patterson, our old study hall teacher.

"Hello?" Millie said.
"Hi! Long time no see. I have found your story! It is great, I know you have probably found a job and stuff but I have a great opportunity for you." She sounded uppity.
"Oh, what is it?" She shifted the phone to her ear to continue grading work.
"I want to be your official writing advisor, help you make a REAL book, publish it, and all! Don't worry about the cost for now. It will come later." She suggested.
"Wow... I mean that sounds great. Your the only person who I would really choose." Millie responded.
"This is a one time opportunity Millie. I need a answer now." She said.
"Yes! Yes. This is gonna be great. Thank you." Millie said.
"Tell me when you start something up, we will be in contact." She hung up.

Millie came through the door excited to tell Caleb about the news.

"Guess who just got a writing advisor!" Millie squealed.
"Wow seriously?!" Caleb said.
"Yeah. Mrs. Patterson offered, she's gonna help me write my book. Basically you show her your chapters and she finds a publisher. All that good stuff.
"Wow, that's cool." He said.
"Yeah." She rested her head on his bare shoulder.
"This seems to good to be true." She looked out the window into the city.
"Hm?" He mumbled.
"I mean, I'm gonna write a book, i'm a college teacher. Your a NBA player!" She said.
"OH YEAH! GUESS WHAT I GOT!" He grabbed a envelop.

He opened the envelop and took out a $100,000 check.

"Oh my-." Millie stuttered.
"I can get used to this." He smirked.
"You earned it! Go enjoy." She hugged him.
"We'll... In that case I didn't do that. Come with me." He grabbed her hand and lead her to the parking lot garage. "See these cars?" He said.
"Uhm yeah?"
"That one is yours." He pointed.

"Theirs no way!" Millie screamed and ran to the car with the red bow on top

"You really spent your first check on me?"
"Well I payed off our apartment for the next few months and sent some money back home." He said.
"Wait! What are you gonna drive?" She asked.
"I can use the Jeep. I'm barely home! The only place I go is the gym and I get transportation everywhere else." He said.
"We'll hop in!!!! Joyride." She started up the car.

They drove through downtown LA like it was their last day on earth. The windows all down and the sunset breeze flowing through the car. Do I really have a G-Wagon?! She chuckled to herself. She took a picture and posted it on instagram when she got home. But she didn't get the response she expected.

"UGLY."
"GOLD DIGGER"
"HE DOESN'T WANT YOU!"
"SKANK!"
"YOU LET HIM BUY YOUR RELATIONSHIP?!"

She read these comments in disgust deciding to make a video about it.

"Hello everyone, I know you don't know much about me. I gained thousands of followers overnight and I'm not good at this. But me and Caleb have been together since freshmen year of college. I would never use him or his money in my life. I'm sorry if you felt that way." She posted to her main story. A few minutes later Caleb came bursting into the bedroom.

"What the hell is this?" The video played.
"What?" She asked.
"Your not supposed to respond to these stupid comments. We both know the truth of why you got that car and our backstory." He came closer.
"I'm sorry, I just want people to know the truth." She said.
"I know. This is gonna take some getting used to. I'm exhausted I have a game tomorrow." He face planted against the pillow.
