Sophie decided not to go back to the hospital for a while because of her new ability. This unexpected periods of her absence had apparently concerned Fin because he was standing at the door with an unnaturally cheerful smile and Chinese food one night.

"Oh, hi, Fin." Sophie said, hiding her hands behind her back. "What's up?"

"What's up? Hart, that's my line! You didn't come to work for, like, four weeks!" Fin's smile turned softer. "Is everything okay?"

"Yeah, of course, everything's fine! I've been busy at home, you know, with Charlotte and all. For a two-year-old, she can be really energetic." Sophie put on a fake smile. The truth was, she had been throwing up here and there, occasionally getting fevers. But that wasn't the worst part. She had been conjuring things in her sleep, too. Not just objects, but water and fire, too. It terrified her. And this ability made her think of Edaline, which made her think of all her friends in the Lost Cities and... well, let's just say she did not like where her mind liked to wander off to.

But Fin was a doctor, and it wasn't very easy to fool them. "Liar. Your voice is all scratchy and you're awfully pale. No offense, but you look terrible."

"Thanks a lot." Sophie mumbled, beckoning him to come inside.

"That's not what I meant." He snapped. "But, Hart, you need to rest. Seriously. Let me take care of Char! She doesn't hate me that much anymore."

He winked at Charlotte, who was hiding behind the door. Sophie rolled her eyes.

"Here, why don't you sit down. I'll get the table ready. Oh, well, if you want me to leave, I will." Fin said again.

"No, it's alright, stay." Sophie said, plopping down on the couch and turning on the TV. She didn't hate company other than an obnoxious toddler.

"Breaking news." The news caster said. Why did they always have to say things in a stern voice? It makes them less attractive! And they never messed up, which made them literally unhuman. "A boy about 23 was spotted, seemingly flying, in San Diego, California. We will hear more about this from Mrs. Vales, who almost got a heart attack seeing the 'impossible'  happen right before her eyes."

Sophie gulped, intrigued. A human flying? Impossible.

"Oh my goodness, I was so shocked!" Mrs. Vales said. "I was coming home from Trader Joe's, and that guy was flying! More like levitating, but the thing is, this actually happened. Ask anyone, they'll give you the same answer."

The screen turned back to the news caster. His brows were furrowed.

"Scientists are investigating more on the matter, but they are currently not able to find a possible explanation."

Of course not, Sophie thought. Because she had a pretty good idea who the person was. It was not human, of course not, but an elf. What they were doing in San Diego? Well, she might as well never know, because she was determined to never go back to the Cities again.

"You guys hungry?" Fin said, looking at the door which hid Charlotte. She reluctantly gave in to the delicious smell, and Sophie chuckled. He glanced at the TV for a second, and his mouth formed a little 'O' as if he were surprised. "I saw that too! The guy levitating, right? Hold on, I think they're showing the same thing they did this morning. I bet you there's going to be a clip showing it. Weird, huh? Humans having superpowers? Maybe our cells are slowly changing... now that's cool... imagine if people were all able to fly a hundred years from now."

Sophie nodded, her eyes finding her way to the screen again. Because, like Fin said, it was now showing a YouTube video of a boy who Sophie immediately recognized levitating off the ground. Looking at him made Sophie want to burst into tears and leap back to the Cities. But she kept the feelings to herself.

Fin was still blabbing on about how cool it would be if a 'Human Change' was occurring.

Hate to break it to you, Sophie thought, but that's an elf, and looking at your pretty- er, green eyes, you're a regular human.

And, that's... one of the most talented prodigy (in my opinion) to ever attend Exillium and succeed in Levitation greatly.

Tam.

Yup, it's not Keefe! You'll see why it's Tam though.

Btw, how many of you ship Wylinh? Because, hate to break it to you, a lot of that is coming up! *squeals*
