He let himself fall backwards on the bed. Just a moment, just a minute, just a second to close his eyes and regroup. He had spent the whole afternoon after they came home from rehearsal practising his arse off, and now for some reason his eyes just didn't want to stay open anymore. Even if there were still too many thoughts racing around his head. Was he even going to sleep tonight?
"Hey! You okay?"
Brett's voice was soft and gentle, and it instantly made him open his eyes and smile at his boyfriend.
"Yeah. Just tired."
Brett closed the door, sat down on the bed next to him and put his hand on his belly.
"Didn't I let you sleep enough?"
Eddy grinned.
"I didn't let myself sleep enough."
Brett bent over to him and pressed a soft kiss to his temple.
"In that case I'll make sure you sleep tonight."
Eddy nodded. I mean, what was he going to say? Would he tell Brett about his worries? He didn't want to worry him, too.
"Sure." he said as he turned a little so he could take Brett's hand.
"Your practise sounds great. You have Sasha tomorrow, right?"
"Yeah. At eleven o'clock. I just hope he agrees with you."
To be honest, Eddy could find an awful lot wrong with his practice that afternoon. But he wasn't about to say that, was he? He pulled a little on Brett's arm, until Brett smiled and lay down next to him on the bed. He cupped Eddy's face with two hands and kissed him, on the lips this time.
"Hmmm. See? That makes me a lot more awake already."
"Really? Maybe I should kiss you again, then?"
Eddy grinned softly against Brett's lips.
"I would kiss you all night, to be honest. But I'm guessing take out is about to be here? I'm certainly hungry enough."
Brett glanced to the door, as if it would tell him when take out would arrive, then turned back to Eddy to kiss him again, just ever so gently, on the lips. There was no rush, now, no instistance, no feeling of now-or-never. They would have time, you see, they would have all night, again. And suddenly Eddy found himself relaxing into it and he put his arms around his love. He snuggled into his shoulder and listened to the soft thudding of Brett's heart.
"That was a very deep sigh."
Brett's tone was humourous, but it had an undertone to it. Eddy shrugged. He hadn't even realised he had sighed. And in any case it really wasn't anything he wanted to talk about right now, was it?
"I'm just relaxing."
"Yeah? Relaxing's good."
Eddy nodded and burrowed himself a little deeper into Brett's shoulder.
"It is. We could just not eat and stay here all night?"
Brett grinned. "Your growling stomach would chase us out of here in minutes."
"Or Todd would knock on the door and call us lovebirds again."
Eddy raised his head so his lips were on Brett's neck, on his soft, slightly stubbly skin, just against the point where he could feel Brett's pulse. Strong. Steady. Just like the owner of the pulse.
"Todd can call us anything he likes. But you're right. We should get up."
Brett nodded against his hair.
"Yeah. But only for a little bit, okay? Are you going to practise anymore after dinner? We could practise together if you want?"
"That sounds good. If I can keep my eyes open."

Brett got up and held out his hand. Eddy smiled as he took it and allowed himself to be pulled up into a sitting position.
"I love you, you know?"
Brett's face lit up.
"I love you too."
