I let out a deep breath before turning the door knob. I entered my house and was greeted with silence, complete and utter silence. I let out another breath and fell against the front door. She must be out, at least it gives me a bit more time to figure out what I'm going to say to her.

I felt better that Logan wasn't mad at me anymore. I couldn't stand fighting with him. And he honestly has nothing to be worried about, Luke wouldn't try anything.

When Logan told me the Collins we're moving out soon, a wave of relief washed over me. Having Missy there every time I was over was frustrating, she openly checked out Logan and flirted with him when I was in the same room. I surprised myself many times with my strong willpower to not slap her.

I threw myself on the couch but instantly shot straight up and restrained from puking. I quickly rushed to the cupboard full of cleaning items and pulled out wet wipes and carried the vacuum to the couch. I doubt this'll do anything but it will make me feel better.

As I cleaned the couch I tried my best to shut out the mortifying image of my mother and that sick man on this very couch. I cringed and furiously scrubbed the couch with the wet wipe. A loud knock on the door startled me and I quickly rushed to the door but hesitated. What if it was Mr Collins looking for my mother?

"Oh for God sake Haydee, if you don't hurry up I'll pee on your front porch." Luke's voice rang through the door and I let out a relieved chuckle before swinging the door open to have him push past me and rush down the hall to the bathroom.

I stifled a laugh and started to shut my door but I was stopped when someone placed their hand on it to stop it from closing on them. Confused I peeked around the door to be met by the same beautiful blue shade eyes that Luke had been blessed with.

Lucy!

"Oh Lucy, I'm so sorry I didn't see you there." I grinned at her and motioned for her to come in. She pulled me into a quick hug and returned my grin.

"It's okay, I haven't seen you around school." She pouted sadly and I nodded. Lucy and I didn't have any classes together unfortunately and I hadn't seen her around the school, I realised.

"Alright," Luke clapped his hands as he appeared from the bathroom. "What are we going to do?" He looked to the both of us, awaiting an answer. Lucy and I shrugged and Luke gave us a flat look. "Okay, what were you doing before we came?" He asked me.

"I was just cleaning the couch." I shrugged and walked into the living room.

"Just the couch?" Lucy mused following me along with Luke.

"It was dirty." I defended and picked up all the cleaning stuff and placed them back into the cupboard.

"Whatever, I'm hungry let's make something to eat." Luke grinned and I rolled my eyes.

We all walked into the kitchen and I rummaged through the pantry and fridge looking for ingredients. We ended up just making a chocolate cake and watched a movie while demolishing the cake. It was good though because it took my mind off my mother. After a few hours they needed to leave, leaving me alone to watch another movie as I awaited my Mother's arrival.

The front door swung open and I jumped in my seat. I heard shuffling and muffled voices before my Mother and Mr Collins stumbled into the living room, attached by the lips. My heart swelled painfully and my eyes burned. I squeezed them shut and cleared my throat, startling the two. My Mother's eyes were wide as she stared at me, Mr Collins' expression mirroring hers.

"Oh Haydee, I thought-" She started to speak but I stood up abruptly.

"Why?" My hands in tight fists. "Why would you do this?" I questioned her, my intense stare obviously making her uncomfortable as she shuffled nervously on her feet.

"I should go-" Mr Collins spoke up but I interrupted.

"No, you're staying." I snapped. He shut his mouth and stood silently. I turned my heated gaze on my Mother. "You haven't answered my question."

"I love him, Haydee." My blood boiled at those words and I shook my head. "I do, this isn't just some fling. He's going to divorce his wife for me and we'll be a family." I stared at her in utter disbelief. A family? With him?

"No, Mom, we were just beginning to be a family again but then you go and do this behind my back." I gesture to them angrily. "I get that it's okay to move on from dad but not with a married man." I looked to Mr Collins. "Missy knows by the way. She knows you're a lying pig." My Mother gasped at my words and Mr Collins eyes widened. "She doesn't know it's with my Mother, though." I spat and looked at both of them with disgust.

"Haydee you don't understand." My Mother shook her head and took a step towards me but stopped when I backed away.

"I don't understand?" I scoffed. "You're tearing apart another family. Because you love him. Because you want a family with him." I yelled. Her eyes welled up with tears as did mine. "You're tearing apart our family," I whispered. "again."

"Haydee," She walked towards me again but I shook my head.

"No," A tear fell and rolled down my cheek as she stopped. "You're having an affair with a married man, do you not see how wrong that is?" I questioned and without waiting for her answer, I storm past them and out the front door.

I rushed to the park not far from my house, the one where I literally ran into Logan. A strange sense of déjà vu washed over me as I entered the park. I quickly found a bench that was kind of isolated and sat down.

The sun was starting to set, pinks, oranges and purples were covering the normally blue sky. It looked beautiful. A sob left my mouth and my shoulders shook.

A family? She wants a family. I thought I was her family, I thought she was happy but I guess not. I thought I was enough to make her happy.

After a while my sobs subsided and I had mostly calmed down. I walked slowly back home and slipped silently through the back door and to my room. I fell on top of my bed, realising how exhausted I really was, and shut my eyes welcoming the deep sleep awaiting me.
