OF COURSE IT WAS A HARD DECISION!
First of all, I DID NOT want to take the decision at all in the first place. Why would I want to keep my mouth shut for such a big thing...That turned my life over to a new angle altogether? And it was anyway gossip about the royals, and who wouldn't want to hear and spread that? But it came with its own risks. I had no idea to what point and what all the royals had in their hand and could control and to what extent.
The financial help seemed to be a better option to me at that point. But having a lot of wealth, all at the same time? That didn't quite... make sense. It would be easier to spend and even easier to regret later.
But then....they were royals. And if Aaron was around my age...I could ensure financial stability for all of the years of my vampirehood! I could ask for anything at this point and they would be bound to give it to me, provided it was not exceptionally wild, even to their wallets.
So a monthly allowance couldn't be that bad a choice, huh?
I have to say, I was quite stable and sensible for a teenager. Sometimes.
I hope it was more than that, but then, you do understand the brain of a teenager, right?
It does not work that way.
Anyway, I asked for a monthly allowance of two hundred coins, as long as he lived. Now two hundred coins wasn't a small amount back then, it could certainly keep you well and alive with a roof over your head for over four months. But for royals, it wasn't more than dropping a purse somewhere and forgetting about it. Aaron did raise an eye for a moment, he didn't think that I could be smart too, maybe. Or maybe he knew that I had spoken something way out of my financial league. Which, I had, but hey, we're not here to discuss my biological parents financial woes, are we?
Anyway, he agreed after giving it a moment of thought. We had to sign an agreement after the tea, which would grant me two hundred coins as a monthly deposit, safely deposited in a bank account under my name in The Vampire Bank of Royalty. Why? Well because the queen never intended to see my face ever again. Which was a good...wait, great deal actually. I am still happy without seeing her even once after that day, and see where she is today? Probably in a coffin under the earth in some backyard of the palace.
And not like I anyway know where the palace is currently, but that's a story for another day.
The tea was great though, I must admit. There was SO MUCH to choose from. Literally, half of the things I had never seen or even heard about! Macaroons, at least fifteen types of cookies, scones, sponge cake, trifles in all shapes and sizes, sandwiches, pastries, rolls, pinwheels in so many combinations and flavours that I could never remember even if I tried.
It was a fun time, not gonna lie. You don't get to go to a royal tea party twice in your life, especially if you're not at all related to the royalty or a part of the uppermost classes of vampires, and they're vampires by birth, of course I don't compare to them at all.
