Chapter 23

MAGDALENA'S POV

"What? Gone where?" Dana asked. I see him tense up a bit.

I bite my lip.
No this can't be happening. I know I'm never supposed to think the worst but I can't help it. David can't be dead. I mean I know he's mad at me for dating Dana but he's like a brother to me. I still care about him. A lot.

"Like gone as in he's no longer in the band gone." Cole clarifies.

Dana and I both breathe a sigh of relief. I guess we're both thinking the worst. But this is really bad though. Did he leave because of me and Dana?

"I didn't even get to say goodbye." I say softly.

Dana wraps his arm around my waist, pulling me in close.

"Well where'd he go? He moved out?" Dana asks.

They all nod.

"Yep. You know his friend Romeo? He moved in with him for a while." Dalton says getting up from his chair, stretching. "Well it's time for my afternoon nap. Later."

"Oh. Anyone have Romeo's address?" Dana asks again.

Cole and Gabe shake their heads no.

"I do." Will pipes up suddenly, still looking down. "David gave it to me in case he forgot something then I can mail it to him."

"Alright give it to me." Dana tells him.

I look at my boyfriend curiously. What was he up to?
After Will gives Dana the address, Dana starts heading toward the front door.
"You coming Mags?" He shouts over his shoulder.

I smile at the guys and quickly run to catch up with him.

Knock knock knock

We stand outside of Romeo's loft and knock on the door.

"Babe what are you going to say?" I ask Dana.

Dana shushes me as the door swings open revealing a shirtless Romeo. He smirks at us, as he leans his arm against the top of the door frame.

"Hey man. Uh is David around?" Dana asks shifting uncomfortably, obviously not expecting Romeo to be half naked.

"Yeah hold on." Romeo disappears inside, yelling for David that people are at the door for him.

David pops up minutes later, frowning as soon as he sees us.

"Hey David." Dana tries to greet him with a warm smile.

"Hi." I say as well.

David raises an eyebrow and cocks his head at us.

"Um so we heard that you quit the band. We just wanted to tell you that we'll miss you and wish you all the best for your solo career."

David nods. "Thanks."

"And I also I wanted to apologize to you." Dana continues. "I never meant to steal Magda away from you, I always liked her. Remember that day at the beach? Yeah I liked her then. When you took her to the dance I just got really jealous because I thought she was into you not me. So that's when I confessed my love for her, only so I could get it off my chest. I really don't want this fight to come between our friendship and our brotherhood. I'm sorry."

David is silent for a minute. Then he finally spoke.
"It's okay man, no hard feelings."

"Really?"

"Yeah. I'm glad you came here to apologize. Bros?" David asks holding up a hand.

"Bros." Dana replies as they do that universal bro handshake thing.

"Aww yay!" I say.

They both look at me and grin.

"And besides, Magda isn't even that pretty..." David adds.

I scoff. "Excuse me?"

Dana and David start laughing.
I roll my eyes smacking them both on the chest.

After our visit with David, Dana and I ride home in silence. His hand is on my thigh, softly tracing circles patterns on it.

"You did the right thing today Dana." I say breaking the comfortable silence.

Dana smiles, his eyes still on the road. "Thanks babe."

"You're welcome. Oh and by the way I'm not pretty, I'm spicy hot." I pretend to lick my finger and touch my shirt making a hissing sound.

Dana chuckles. "Mhmm sure you are."
