Wednesday at school

DANA'S POV

Umm so I almost kissed Magda last night. And it was so awkward at dinner because Magda didn't talk to me and Dalton just stared at us smirking. I think I messed up. I don't think Magda feels the same way about me as I do to her. But something in the back of my mind is telling me that she might like me. I don't know! I'm so confused. I think I might just go talk to her and ask her how she feels. Or maybe I could ask her to hang out like I said I was the night I drove her to the hospital. We could go to the-

"DANA VAUGHNS!" I hear a voice call my name snapping me from my thoughts.

"Huh?" I look up to see the whole class staring at me.

"I've been calling your name for the past 5 minutes. Bring your head down from the clouds and pay attention. Can you do that for me?" My teacher Mrs. Johnson says.

I nod sheepishly, while the whole class laughs.

"Good! Now do you know the answer?" She asks.

"Oh..I...um.." I squint at the board trying to see what the problem is.

RIIIIIIIIIIIIIIINNGGGGGGG!
Saved by the bell...literally.

I bolt out of the classroom and try to find Magda. It's lunch time so I go to her locker, but she isn't there. I walk through the halls looking for her. I need to hurry up and find her quickly before I lose my nerve. I walk by the office and spot her sitting in the foyer on the bench.

"Hey." I say walking up to her.
She looks up from her phone. Man she is on that thing a lot!

"Hey yourself." She smiles brightly. I sit next to her and scoot really close so I can peak over her shoulder to see what's she's doing.

"You know Vaughns, you always interrupt me when I'm about to order something." She laughs scooting away from me.

"Whacha ordering?" I scoot closer.

"Stuff." She scoots further away.

"What kind of stuff?" I ask following her.

"Just stuff. Why are you alwa- ahhhh!" Magda scoots off the bench way farther than she needed to and plops on the ground, landing on her behind.
I suck in air in between my teeth and cover my mouth, trying not to laugh.

"Mm seems like déjà vu doesn't it? I had something you wanted to see. You have something I wanted to see. Well now it's karma for trying to tweet something weird so I get in trouble."

She rolls her eyes. "Whatever help me up!"

I extend my hand and she takes it.

"I hate you so much." She mutters brushing herself off once she's up.

"You know you love me." I reply with a cheeky grin.

"Not really dork." Magda sits on the bench again.

"Speaking of dorks remember when I drove you to the hospital that one night?" I ask.

Magda laughs. "Okay that had nothing to do with dorks but yes I do. What about it?"

"Well I asked you if you wanted to you know hang out. But we never got to it so I was wondering if-"

"Dana! Man where have you been? We've been looking all over for you." I look up to see the guys hurrying towards me.

"I've uh just been here with Magda." I say. Seriously? They interrupt me again?!

"See? I told you he was probably with Magda. Let's leave them alone." Will says out of breath from running.

"No way man! This is too good!" Gabe exclaims.

"Guys slow down. What's going on?" I stand up.

"Jessica Goldworthy is looking for you!" Cole says.

"What? Why?" I ask.

"We don't know but it most likely has to do with the dance this Saturday."

Every year at the end of March our school has a dance for all of the juniors. It's like a pre-prom for juniors since we're not allowed to go to the senior's real prom. I guess people have been making a big deal out of but I haven't even thought of it until now.

"The dance?" I ask raising a brow. "Meaning like she wants to go with me?"

"YES!" The guys say in unison.

"And you better say yes too." Cole adds.

"Why?"

"Because her dad owns like 5 record labels and if she likes you then maybe she'll get us signed to one!" David explains.

I glance over at Magda who has been listening but silent the whole time.

"What do you think Magda?" I ask her hoping that she'll protest against the idea. I mean Jessica is hot don't get me wrong but I don't "like-like" her. She's rude and snobbish which is such a turn off.

"I think you should go with her Dana. This could be your guys big break! Just think of all the opportunities you guys will get if her dad signs you guys to one of his labels." Magda answers smiling.

Of course she thinks that because we're just friends and housemates. Nothing more. And friends or housemates are supposed to say whatever advice that makes the other friend happy I guess.
I stare at Magda but she doesn't look at me at all.

"Fine." I sigh.

"Yes!" The guys all high five each other.

As I let them drag me to where ever Jessica is, I glance back at Magda, who watches me leave. I'm surprised to see she looks...kind of...sad.
