Chapter 11

Next day at school

After 3rd hour I head to my locker to get my books for my next class. I am confused to see IM5 plus Dalton standing at my locker when I arrive. They're all huddled in a circle talking intently about something.

"Um hey guys?" I say as I reach them.
They all look up in surprise at me but their faces quickly change to guilt.

"What?" I ask.

They all exchange glances.

"Okay you guys are really starting to freak me out. What's going on?"
Gabe steps forward and puts his arm around me.

I see Dana clench his jaw as his face quickly turns a shade of red. But just as it comes it disappears. Okay that was weird.

"Magda, babe." Gabe pauses briefly.
"There comes a time when we all have to make tough decisions. And well frankly, they could be for better or for worse..."

I take Gabe's arm off my shoulder.
"Okay and?"

"And sometimes everyone has to decide if-"

"Weallthinkit'sbestifyoujustmove-inwithus." Will blurts suddenly.

"Wow Will way to tell her lightly." Dalton comments sarcastically.

"Wait you guys want me to move in with you?" I am shocked. Move in with IM5 plus Dalton? As in live in the same house as 6 other guys?

They all nod their heads.

"But why?"

"Your mom Mags! That's why!" Cole lowers his voice so when wouldn't be heard outside of our circle. "Living in that apartment with her is not safe. Just look at your face! Home is supposed to be a safe haven where you don't have to worry about anything. But your home is the complete opposite."

I cross my arms and narrow my eyes at Dana. "You told them?"

"I was worried about you. What else could I do?"

"Oh I don't know how about keep your damn mouth shut!" I can't believe Dana right now!

"Did you or did you not agree that I could help you?"

"Yes but-"

"Please Magda? We are trying to be your supermen just let us." David pleads.

"Don't be stubborn Mags." Gabe adds.

I can't. Being stubborn is just what I do best.

"I'll think about it." Is all I say.

The bell rings and I head to class.

That night

I'm in my room listening to music doing my homework. I'm also kind of thinking about the guy's offer. I mean yes I would love to get away from my mom. But I don't know...

My phone vibrates next to me. It's Alex and Arlene on our group chat.

Alex 😘: Heyy girrrllls!

Arlene 😈: Wassup bitchesss

Me: Hi

Alex 😘: Mags what's wrong?

Me: Nothing just have tons of hw

Arlene 😈: Wow was that lie a window? Because I could see right through it

Alex 😘: lol 😂😂

Me: I'm not lying

Alex 😘: Is it about Dana...?

Me: No! Why does everything have to be about him

Arlene 😈: That's okay we'll wait

Me: For what?

Arlene 😈: For you to tell us what's really going on!

Me: Ugh fine. Oovoo?

Alex 😘: Sure

Arlene 😈: K

I might as well tell them. They'll probably have a good solution for me anyways. We all connect to each other on Oovoo.

"So spill." Alex says.

"Okay um so IM5 plus Dalton invited me to uh live with them."

Arlene and Alex raise their eyebrows.

"Why?" Arlene asks.

"Because my mom is abusive and it's not really safe for me to live here."

"Oh my gosh really? I'm so sorry to hear that. Are you going to?" Alex asks.

"I'm not sure should I?"

"Sure! I mean if mom was abusing me I'd run away too."

"Yeah. And before I left I'd take all of her money and her credit cards!" Arlene adds.

We laugh. I shake my head at her.

"Well I guess I should call Dana and accept the offer." I say.

"Oh my gosh no fair! I want to move in with them! They have hella rooms. It'd just be one big sleepover everyday!" Alex exclaims.

"You just want to be with Gabe every night." Arlene rolls her eyes playfully. "Ya nasty!"

"And you don't want to be with Dalton?" Alex crosses her arms.

"Maybe..."

"Exactly! And you Magda."

"What?" I say.

Arlene coughs "Dana."

"Will guys stop bringing him up? So what if I like him he doesn't feel the same way."

"Mhmm." Arlene says unconvinced. "Well I'm going to bed. Night."

"Goodnight Arlene! Sweet dreams!" Alex says to her.

"Don't tell me what to do." She hangs up.

"Thanks for the advice. You're the best Alex!" I tell her.

"Aw no problem hun. Well bye see you tomorrow."

As soon as I hang up with Alex I pull up Dana's contact. Well here goes nothing. I tap on his number and put my phone to my ear.

Dana picks up on the second ring.

"Cardenas." Dana says.

"Vaughns." I smile and roll my eyes he's such a dork I swear! "So listen I've been thinking about what you guys said earlier. And I've decided to take your offer."
