a little something because minsung deserves better ( in the fictional world ) <3
♡the winter sun brought out the purity of the heaven-given snow, as if were a blank page for merriment, inviting the feet to play and the spirit to laugh. the arrival of winter brought such crystalline joy to jisung, those brilliant rays that show the uniqueness of every snowflake. it is the time of puddles that become transient skating rinks and for his thoughts to remain cozy within a woollen hat. it is the time when the sunniest of days are warm even in when he could see his breath rise as neat and pure vapour. it is the days of quiet poetry forming, resting deep in his soul as if it calls to the spring flowers that will soon blossom.
it all started when he was at the mere age of 5, making snow angels on the winter blanket, giggling when a snowflake landed on his lips, a feathery soft yet icy cold touch. those were such happy times and he could still fondly remember the bright smiles that were adorned on his parents' face, a warm feeling resting in the pit of his stomach.
however, as much as he wished for those happy memories to last forever, they sadly couldn't, even if he were to freeze the moment in time. it would all be reduced to a part of a joyful story. the han family were busy managing a family restaurant, and their business was doing quite well, with frequent and loyal customers who grew to love their food.
han promised to continue the han family's tradition , carrying the torch for as long as he could. which explains why he was currently putting on his skiing attire and attaching the skis onto his ski boots. it wasn't anything out of the norm, him being fully equipped for practice. it wasn't nothing out of the ordinary.. if you ignored the fact that he was wrapped from head to toe in winter wear,a pair of ski goggles resting on his squirrel-like face, in the middle of the house, sweating underneath the attire since it was the last day of summer.
no one could blame the boy for wanting to be extra careful with his preparations. it had been quite some time since he skied and was rather afraid of his skills getting rusty due to the lack of training. it was already hard enough to balance school life and work, the icing on top being his passion in the aforementioned sport.
he started mimicking the sliding motions as if he was skiing through a thick blanket of snow instead of the carpeted flooring of his room, imagining the cold winter breeze greeting him as he rushed against it. from then, seconds turned to minutes and they soon turned to hours. jisung was still ever so determined, taking a short break once in a while before continuing his self conducted practice.
" you can do it, jisung!"
♡
snow danced in the light, a choreographed ballet conducted by the gentle wind. as jisung watched, his eyes grew that tiny bit wider, the snow becoming a fresh new page awaiting his playful feet and already mittened hands. to say that he was excited was an understatement. jisung was already jumping up and down, elated at the awaited arrival of snow.
it was the first day of winter.
it was also the anticipated day, where he would be participating in a skiing competition. he was on cloud 9, eagerly grabbing his backpack and stuffing his extra winter wear into the compartments messily, too eager to even mind the creases that would soon be imprinted on the material. after climbing down the flight of stairs, he exchanged goodbye to his parents by hugging them, clutching a lunchbox made by his mother.
