Brontide

The low rumble of distant thunder.

♡〰〰♡〰〰♡〰〰♡〰〰♡〰〰♡〰

After gym, I left the guys and was walking through the hallways to get to my car as I heard a familiar voice yelling, "Athena!"

I kept walking towards the entrance, Why does the name sounds familiar? After a second when my brain caught up with my senses, I stop mid-step and turn around quickly.

I winced slightly as I saw Dr. Green standing in the middle of the hallway with a confused expression. I walked to him with a sheepish smile.

I stopped when we were a few feet, "Sorry. Had a lot on my mind." I lied, my voice giving me away.

He nodded and I could tell he wasn't believing me but I sas grateful that he let it go, for now and said, "Okay, I think we need to talk about what happened the other day"

"In the parking lot?" I guessed, well there isn't much to guess what he's talking about. Dr. Green nodded once.

Then I asked my next question, "We?" I saw Dr. Green scrunch his face in confusion so I continued, "Does 'we' mean you, me and the brown haired guy." I clarified.

"Brown haired guy?" he asked as if he couldn't remember who it was.

"Yeah, the one with grey eyes, glasses AND was wearing a grey tailored suit with a.....really cold demeanor." I said, if only I can draw I would have drawn the man with steel grey eyes without leaving a detail -but i don't think I could capture the cold look he had- Thanks to my photographic memory.

"Oh, you remembered." Dr. Green stated.

I smiled as I answered, "I have a photographic memory. So the answer to my question is?"

"Uh, yes....Yes, he'll be there." He said after a second of staring at me, causing me to stop in my tracks.

I thought he would say no and with that as an excuse I could get away but now, I just made my life more miserable.

"I-uh-I can't talk right now. I have to go home. You know...uh..my...my parents are kind of strict." I stumbled over words, carefully avoiding the part that I didn't live with them anymore to stop my voice from giving me away.

"It's okay. We can talk tomorrow." He said with a smile that told me he knew what I was trying to do. Shit!

"During my classes? I don't thi-" I was about to say I can't, when he interrupted, "You have study hall, right? We can talk during that time. So your classes wouldn't be compromised."

I looked at him, contemplating of I could just stay at home, faking a fever or something.

"If you can't make it tomorrow, there's always another day." He said, like he knew where my thoughts are going. Oh, well maybe I'll stop coming to school.

As if he read that thought too, he said with a shrug, "Or we could contact your parents. But i don't think that will be necessary, right?"

"I would love to see you try, but we can talk during study hall." I said with a mischievous smile. I would really love to see them try even though he was just trying to bait me to come. Then with a cute frown he turned and left, leaving me to think of the hole I had digged for myself.
