Izuku didn't awake for a while as he was in a coma from all his surgeries. His wounds seemed to be healing well enough as his black eye faded, his busted lips were only chapped, and his bruises were slowly fading.
The school dance was postponed because the students in Class-1A wanted it to be closer to the winter, so they could have a 'Winter Ball'. The luck was interesting as Katsuki couldn't tell any of his friends about what had happened. It was private for now. This proved greater for Katsuki since he couldn't take Izuku yet, but the dance wasn't even on his mind anymore.
He visited Izuku's hospital room every day after school and on weekends. He brought him an assortment of flowers, each one having a good meaning behind them.
On Sunday, he brought peonies which symbolized luck.
On Monday, he brought Irises which represent hope.
On Tuesday, he brought lavenders which represent peace.
On Wednesday, he brought dragon flowers which represent strength.
On Thursday, he brought amaryllises which represent beauty.
Finally on Friday, he brought red chrysanthemums to represent love.
What? His dad liked flowers, so Katsuki learned the 'language of flowers' when he was younger, which explains the pink aconite he gave Hisako-
Katsuki's studies were a bit wonky because he wanted to spend as much time in the hospital with Izuku, so he took all his homework, textbooks, and notebooks there with him.
It was a Thursday when Mina poked Katsuki in the hip, "Bakugou, are you going to ask Midoriya out yet?"
Katsuki choked on his meal before swallowing some water to push his food back down. He wiped his mouth, "Uh- Well, he's kind of occupied- IT'S NONE OF YOUR BUSINESS!"
Mina giggled as she almost got an actual answer out of Katsuki, "Oh, come on! You're obviously head over heels for him!"
Ochaco suddenly made her way over with her lunch tray, "Hey, Mina, do you mind if I sit with you today?" She asked timidly; she eyed her usual lunch table as Hisako was sitting there, crying over the fact that her brother had attacked her again- for the 60th time. Yes, the same one that happened a week ago.
Lately, Hisako had told her 'squad' that she was extremely depressed because of her brother. At first, even though they knew how sweet her brother really was, they expressed their sympathy.
However, it was becoming too frequent when she would do something that the group didn't appreciate like calling Iida names or hitting the girls too hard when they were joking or constantly trying to fight with them only to blame it on her so-called depression and brother.
Mina showed confusion on her face for a split second before a happy smile sprang on her face, "Of course! The more the merrier, right?"
Denki gave a thumbs up, and Eijiro gave a toothy smile for their approval to the new addition to the group.
Katsuki just grunted, not really caring and not bothering to fight about it.
. o O o .
Katsuki rushed the the hospital with his bag, panting from the distance. He used his quirk to propel himself forwards every now and then. He got there quicker than he expected, and he rushed towards the receptionist.
"Izuku Midoriya!" he shouted, still out of breath. His scarf hung loosely around his neck, and puffs of smoke escaped from his mouth.
News was that Izuku was finally awake.
. o O o .
Katsuki's breath was taken away as Izuku was finally awake. His eyes were clouded a bit, but he rubbed them gently with his knuckles. His face had the pillows imprints, and everything about him screamed Sleeping Beauty.
His hair was unruly, but to Katsuki, he looked even more adorable from when they first had met.
Izuku caught eyes with the doctor, who examined his eyes before asking him some questions to test out his speech patterns.
They tried to make him stand, but Izuku's shaky legs made him collapse almost immediately. But, from his movement, Izuku could still move his toes, legs, arms, neck, fingers, wrist (which had healed rather nicely), and mouth.
Most of his injuries were completely healed, heck, even his stitches were out. But, the scars lingered around his body.
Katsuki made sure to be by his side the whole time, and it was heart warming every time Izuku would send a smile of thanks. His mother said that she was busy at work, and that she would visit the following day.
Masaru was also working, but Mitsuki arrived a few minutes after Katsuki had.
Then, they were all ushered out, even the doctors as the police came right away to ask him for his statement on what had happened.
"His speech patterns are regular, however, he still needs time to recover," the doctor chided, scolding the officers for coming when he had just woken up. "We haven't checked correctly for signs of trauma; he may have level II or III trauma."
The officers pushed through, "Sorry, but we have to continue."
When the room was empty, the officer began.
"What exactly happened before you were injured?" the man asked, taking his notebook out along with a pen.
He didn't really recognize that he had asked a similar question to, 'Hey, Buddy! Can you tell me how your mom died? Oh, and be super specific about the gore part!'
Izuku's mind flashed back to the exact moment when Hisako had taken his phone to see his contacts. After she found out about their meetings, she had jumped on top of him, hitting him with strong punches.
But he couldn't tell them that. She would go to jail, and Hisako would be sad with his mother. Izuku took a shaky breath before nervously saying,
"I had tried to attack her. She was only using self-defense. I am to blame."
