CHAPTER 3

ƹ̵̡ӝ̵̨̄ʒ°┄─────╯

WEDNESDAY
April 19, 2006

"HmmmM... hmmmm!" Suzura whined.

"What is it, Suzura-chan?" Nanami asked, glancing at her from the corner of his eyes.

It's Wednesday and they are currently heading home after class. It's been two days since they first met and he's been babysitting after that. It seems Satoru has become busier than ever.

Suzura blew her fringe away.

"It's poking me!" She rubbed her eyes to remove the itch, then slightly yanked Nanami's arm. "Nana-nami! Blow here, please!" Her desperate tone got him crouching instantly.

He never got to see her eyes closely and now that he can, he can't help but be thunderstruck. The vibrant color of her triumphant blues came into sight, reminding him of the ocean. It looked so deep that he felt his chest submerge into deep waters, swimming in nothing and everything simultaneously, and the more he looked, the more he felt suffocated.

He blinked, ascending him away from the pit of her depths, only to come to the surface and take notice of the light shades in her eyes. This time it appeared similar to the sky with its endlessness and lucency, opposing the ablaze fire of the now setting sky.

She blinked away the uncomfortable feeling after he softly blew on her left eye.

"Thanks, Namnami." She grinned, held his hand once again and rocked it back and forth, continuing their walk. After a few seconds of silence, Suzura couldn't help but not to remain silent. "Say, Nami..."

'She never got my name right.'

"Hmm? What is it?" He adjusted his bag, where his blade resides.

"You're friends with Toru-nii, right? I've been wondering..." She kept her eyes forward. "...what he's like at school?" Her voice turned gentle with a mild somber undertone.

Nanami gripped her hand a little tighter, causing her to flinch and perk her gaze up at him, but he remained looking forward.

"W-well! Uhm, you know, because I never get to see him at school."

'And when I want to talk about it, he always goes silent or he purposely avoids the question.'

"And... I just want to know how he is when he's not my brother." She whispered as another wave of silence crashed to the both of them. All the while, Nanami searched for the right answer.
