CHAPTER 15

May 02, 2006

Suzura woke up peacefully.

Her body felt light, accompanied by a unique feeling of foreignness, like she had a soul transmigration, which is a weird thing to say, especially when referring to a four year old body.

A groan came out of her mouth when uneasiness crawled to her eyes. It felt as if nails were hammering into it as it throbbed painfully.

She closed her eyes, wishing for it to be over.

Only to realize...

'Eh?'

...she could still see everything. All in great detail.

Her eyes landed on a strange string that was linking her hand to some 'post'. She examined the bag hanging off of the post, noting that it had fluids dropping to the said string or more like a transparent tube.

'I'm a fish?'

Her young mind couldn't believe all of this!

She's a human fish. A mermaid!

'Where's my tail?'

Nevertheless, she patted her eyelids to confirm her situation.

'It's really closed?!'

When she opened her eyes, she got presented with an overwhelming amount of information instantly.

The energies around herself swirled similar to fire. It's red and black and turbulent, similar to ocean waves. She gasped at the color and tried to touch it... only to come in contact with nothing but air.

Pouting, she felt a teeny tiny bit of disappointment when she found out it's nonphysical. And with no knowledge of how cursed energy works, her fluttering energy turned more violent, though this time she paid it no mind.

Her attention diverted to the walls which seemed transparent. Suzura couldn't literally see everything that goes past the room, but somehow, she knows what's outside.

The birds, the trees, even people's footmarks—she detected every living spirit with or without cursed energy inside a certain radius.

And at that moment, the littlest of things made sense. The feeling couldn't be put into a single word description, but it was a blissful second, as if she could do anything with no restraint or repercussion. She felt freedom in her grasp and power in her spirit.

Not until the same throbbing pain slowly triumphed, turning her face sour.

Only a short while of looking around and it already stung, as if sunlight was directly piercing and shining on her eyes, leaving her no choice but to close her eyes completely.
