9. Home sweet home

We left the hospital, after we got Sap's crutches.
He looked so sad in the hospital room when he found out he was out for 3-6 weeks. I feel bad honestly, he loves football a lot.

Right now though I'm driving to his house, to help him pack for a possibly two day sleep over at my house. Maybe even more, who knows.

I'm really excited but nervous, anything could happen. We've only known each other for a couple hours, although I was always looking at him. He's too important to lose now, I thought he was just a crush I wouldn't know. Boy was I wrong.

We got to his house but Sapnap looked nervous? Is he ok? I hope he doesn't regret asking to stay at my house, I wonder why he's nervous.

I stopped the car and stepped out, I went to sapnap's side and I saw the door open. "Sap! Stop right now!" He was actually trying to get out of the car alone, he could get more hurt.

"Karl I can get out myself" I was not convinced,

I grabbed his crutches out of the car and set them up on the car. I went to help him out of the car and I could see he was looking at something on Twitter. I didn't mind,

"Sap, let's go get your stuff. I am helping you pack, you cannot do it yourself." He rolled his eyes and chuckled.

I helped sapnap out of the car and handed his crutches to him, I started heading to the porch with him.

When we walked in, it smelled sour. The counter was riddled with empty beer bottles, and the floor was cluttered. He lives here? I feel bad for him, it looks like his dad is on the couch. I'll go talk to him. When I started heading towards him Sap grabbed my hand.

"Karl you said you were going to help me, let's go."
I nodded and enjoyed the feeling of his hand for one more second before we headed upstairs.

We started packing I heard sapnap's dad heading upstairs, maybe I'll get the chance to meet him.
I was right, his dad walked in, and man he looked pissed.

He saw me though, he looked angry and left. I looked over to Sapnap to see him just as confused as me. We brushed it off and I continued packing. When I finished I helped him down the stairs and to the car.

"Karl?"

"Yes Sap?" I looked at him and smiled

"I'm glad I get to stay with you tonight," I beamed with happiness.

Sapnap was glad he was staying with me? me! Karl Jacobs. I can't believe this, this is unreal. I smile at him, knowing he was excited made me feel amazing.

"I am too sap, I am too" He was glowing,

his eyes were full of happiness and he had the biggest, sweetest smile on. Sapnap and I showed up at my house and before we could open the door my mom slammed the door open and hugged me.

"Karl! Don't ever do that to me! You have to let me know when you are taking your boyfriend to the hospital!" Sap was blushing, not even a little bit. He was blushing a lot, he was basically the same color as an apple.

"Mom I already told you, just because I bring a boy home doesn't mean we are dating. I've only dated one boy okay," I whispered the last part so Sap didn't hear,

she looked at me and laughed then went over to him, she smiled and sapnap waved.

"Hi Ms. Jacobs! I'm sapnap! Nice to meet you!" She laughed and smiled at him, at that moment I knew what she was going to say.

"Oh don't worry I know who you are, Karl tells me all about the boys and girls he knows at school" she grinned at Sapnap then turned around to face me.

She giggled a little then left to go cook dinner. It was 6:55 and we were starving. Sap followed me up to my room and placed his bag on the floor, he looked like he was admiring my room, what about it?

It wasn't special, not at all. Then I remembered what his room looked like at his house. All dirty, but not from laziness, it looked like it wasn't even from him. There were so many beer bottles in the room and the whole house, there was no one to greet him when he made it into the house.

Even his dad came into the room looking pissed at him when we hadn't even been there for five minutes. I wonder what happens at his house, I hope he's alright there. I hope he's safe.

"Karl? Can we go downstairs the food smells good,"

At that moment I realized that the food seemed to be almost ready, so I nodded and guided sap downstairs.

"Smells good mom," she turned and nodded at me.

"yeah thanks for the dinner Ms. Jacobs," Sapnap said, She turned around and looked at him softly.

"Oh Sap, you can just call me Ashley."

I was surprised because my mom never does that, she always has my friends call her Ms. Jacobs. Even my past dates, my friends call her Ms. Jacobs because it's a force of habit.

"okay cool," he replied smiling,

"You two sit I'll serve the dinner" I nodded and sapnap followed me to the table.

"Mom can sap stay for more than tonight?" She looked like she was thinking, but it wasn't the normal face you'd make.

It looked like she was fake thinking, like she didn't even need to think about it. Was she gonna say no?

"Of course he can Karl," she smiled at me.

"Thanks mom!" I said followed by a 'thanks Ashley' from Sap.

"did you make this pasta from scratch?" sapnap asked,

"Yes, yes I did hon. What's wrong is it gross?" She frowned,

"No! It's really amazing actually, I used to make pasta all the time." my mom wanted to ask why he didn't anymore. I could tell.

"Sap, honey, why don't you anymore?" He looked at my mom numb.

"I just don't have time," my mom obviously didn't believe him, I didn't either. I knew he was lying, there is a certain thing that he does when he lies.

His nose scrunches.

Almost as if his body knows he's lying and doesn't like letting it happen.
