It was quite unexpected, how life went on without certain direction. How things happened so suddenly, without anyone or anything to have predicted them with perfect accuracy. It had always been a mystery to you, how some things were so sudden and unexpected. However, to you, that was exactly the beauty of life. Living the unpredictable future that guides you blindly, whose shape is different each passing second.
You remember how you were a simple person, living on your own for quite some time now, and despite not having found a partner to marry, you considered yourself a happy person on your own. The source of money you gained came mostly for the errands you made around the village, and the occasional flower selling.
During the summer months, you would help in a friend's restaurant, which provided more money to keep and spend wisely on food and clothes. It was a calm and normal life, nothing out of the ordinary.Although your life was calm, sometimes you craved for some change, for someone to come and sweep you off of your feet. Someone to change your life completely.
The thought made your head feel dizzy, and you softly smiled, folding the laundry before walking back inside your house, seen as the sun had just set.
After dinner, you walked back to the back of your small house, admiring the stars, feeling the sleep escape your body almost as fast as it came. Your smile widened ever so slightly. That was the night you met him. A demon, lurking around your house. At first he had looked annoyed at you, seeming to debate whether to attack you or not.
You were naive, and perhaps that was a good thing. Your innocence seemed to attract him, and before you both knew you, you were creating a beautiful friendship.
During the days you worked hard, socialized with people around you, and did your normal affairs. However, it was night time you craved the most, for it was that the only time you had to see him, and chat with him for a while.Akaza. A part of some weird 'kizuki' demons. You didn't care about such things, and certainly it had never concerned you to worry about it. Despite his despicable actions, you were sure Akaza was a good person deep inside him, and that was the side you always tried to get. He appreciated your company, and before you knew it, the two of you were madly in love with one another.
In a cold autumn night, he confessed. You were sitting together in the backyard. While you hugged your knees, curling up in a ball to keep yourself warm, Akaza stood relaxed, legs spread across the grass, and his hands back, sustaining his weight. Your eyes were on the stars, but his eyes were on you. His heart thumped loudly, he was almost sure you had heard it, but he tried to avoid such thought, to spare himself from embarrassment.
"Y/N, I...need to tell you something." he mumbled, almost like a whisper.
You turned your head to face him, with a gentle smile adorning your features. He loved every single one of your traits, despite being unable to voice it out properly. In fact, he adored you as a whole, your whole personality. He had never met a person like you, so sweet and gentle, and yet so fun to be around and serious when needed. You were, in his eyes, perfect, and despite feeling unworthy of your love, he couldn't help but want to be selfish.
It had been a long time before someone could actually treat him as a human, and not as a monster. Akaza didn't understand much of this feeling, but he understood enough to know he had fallen for you, harder than he wished."I...I know I'm not exactly the best man out there but..." he trailed off. "I love you. And I want to be with you forever."
His eyes held nothing but honesty, and despite his usual passive-aggressive behavior, Akaza was being rather calm about this. His face showed concern, as you took long to say a word, processing the whole thing.
You loved him as well, for God's sake. How could you not? The person that so unexpectedly came into your life, and just like you wished, had swept you off of your feet, and made your heart warmer than a summer afternoon. You loved him, more than words could describe, and you were certain it was forever."Akaza-kun..." you called softly, using a hand to caress his face.
The male teared up. The sudden warmth, the sudden change of tones and attitude you had simply made him emotional. You smiled kindly, and he knew it was a yes. He felt happier than ever, crying his eyes out as he hugged your body tightly, gripping onto your haori rather desperately. You laughed softly, stroking his peach colored hair in a loving manner.
"I am so happy, and so lucky to have met you. Akaza-kun, thank you for making my dull life a better experience to cherish. I hope to never be departed from you. I love you, dearly." you said.
Akaza smiled against your chest, nodding softly.
"Let's...stay like this for a while longer." he asked in return.
It was like that, that from one day to another, life had once again been expectedly unexpected. But with Akaza beside you, the only thing you wanted now was to keep living on, to grow with him and be happy. It was more than hope, it was love.
