It was a beautiful morning, the sun rising behind the trees that surrounded the small village, and in a big house, the preparations for such an important day were being made. It was the most precious day of your life, and everything simple had to be perfect.
You were quite the fussy type, always looking like a bossy child, and acting as you pleased. Despite this, your heart was of golden, as you had always dedicated your life to the protection of the weaker.

Years prior to this you had fallen in love, deep and pure love. It was a matter of seconds, when your eyes met the ones of the demon girl that had made a big commotion all over the headquarters. She stared at you and hummed, seemingly trying to greet you. You were shocked, and quickly stepped back with a red face, falling on your back with a loud shriek.
The girl worriedly waddled over to you, looking at your shocked face with concern, patting your shoulders softly to try and help you up.

The memories of said day would forever be engraved in your memory. It was not until a few days later that you found her name was Kamado Nezuko, the sister of the so kind Tanjiro, a comrade you had taken a like to - in a partnership kinda way.
Short after you began hanging out with the quartet more frequently, eventually going on missions together. You wouldn't say it loudly, but that was mainly a pretext to see and communicate with the lovely Nezuko, and each time you did, a smile - followed by pink-ish cheeks - enlightened your whole face, and you squealed happily when she gave you head pats, much to Zenitsu's dismay.

Over the time, as the real war grew closer, your cheerful attitude had dissipated, and instead, a serious expression was plastered on your face almost constantly. Nezuko, now free from her bamboo muzzle and able to walk during daytime, was very much by your side, supporting and helping you the best she could, despite not being trained for such job.
You loved her even more, and what had started as a childish puppy love had grown into a deeper pure and honest love. On one night, very close to the final battle, you had knelled in front of her, and promised to give her your heart as a whole, could you survive the days that were to come. She smiled, accepting your feelings and promising the same thing back. Finally, the war came.

It was tough for everybody, watching many of your comrades die in the battlefield, and certainly you were to die too. Blood kept coming out, as more and more wounds were given to you. However, you were very much determined to live a life besides the only girl that ever caught your interest. The thought of making Nezuko suffer even more with your loss was enough to give you strength to fight just a bit longer.

At dawn, Muzan was alas defeated. A few inconveniences succeeded, but not for long. This was the end of an era, the end of the demons' reign, and finally you could rest. That day, when you finally saw Nezuko back to being a human, you wholeheartedly cried as you hugged her from the waist, kneeling in front of her, and her hands caressed your hair gently, her laughter making you feel alive.

You spent the next months closer than ever, always going out on walks, and enjoying your new life. Visiting places, going on festivals, or just staying home and being lazy, whatever it was that you did, you were contented to do it with your one true love, Nezuko, and she was happy to have you as well.
That all led to four years later, this very day. Your wedding day.

"No, no!" you exclaimed, eyes shot closed and your hands waving dramatically. "Don't place it there, it'll look very ugly! Nezuko-chan deserves nothing but the best!"

Zenitsu sighed, looking at you from your side as you hushed some of the former kakushi to place a few things to decorate the space. They were glad to help, but your temper had been a hassle to deal with, and the yellow haired male seemed to have noticed this as well. With a small smile, he looked at you and shushed you.

"Calm down, Y/N-chan, everything looks great!" he exclaimed happily.

You pouted slightly, looking over at the space more clearly. It was, indeed, beautiful. A smile painted your lips as you sighed contended, seeing the kakushi place the flowers in the correct place. Everything was ready, and you could barely believe this was happening.
Looking back, you would've laughed at the thought of ever getting married, and after defeating someone as strong as Kibutsuji. Your only wish was that your fellow slayers who'd lost their lives could watch over you on this special occasion, specially your dear friend Genya.

"Yeah, you're right. Zenitsu, thank you so much for being here for me, I'm thrilled to have you as my friend." you said, now calmed.

"Of course! After all we've been through I'm the one who's happy all ended well." he said in relief. "No more demons, ah!"

You both laughed. A comfortable silence followed, as you looked up at the sky, and then back down, finally seeing Tanjiro and Kanao arrive. Quickly, you greeted them with a hug, and exchanged a few words before your girl friend pulled you inside to help you get ready. You chatted throughout the preparations, and she could see very well how your lips always tended to curl up in a smile. She felt happy that all of you could at least have a bit of a normal life, after such eventful beginning.
The girl clapped at the sight of you ready, and you smiled wider.

"Thank you so much, Kanao-chan!" you exclaimed, holding her hands dearly. "We've been through so much together, and I cannot thank you enough for always sticking by."

"Don't worry. I'm happy to see you happy, it's a great relief that all of that madness is over." she responded smiling. "Now, let's go."

You followed her, and quickly walked to where the ceremony was being held. The guests weren't many, only your old comrades and a few other close friends, but you were happy. To have those important people around you on your special day made you feel happier than ever, but it wasn't until you saw Nezuko that your day became brighter.
She looked stunning, with her pretty formal wedding dress, a traditional one of course. She was smiling, and she looked even prettier. Your cheeks assumed a pink tone, and despite the years you'd spend together, you found yourself still blushing around her every single time.

She held your hand happily, and you almost fainted at the sight of her adorable eyes staring at you so lovingly. The day couldn't get any better.
You said your vows, promising to love each other at all costs in front of your friends and family, and shared the most sweet - yet short - kiss in front of them. It was a day to celebrate.
Hashibira Aoi, the wife of the so brute Inosuke, had been kind enough to offer cooking for the wedding, being used to cook for the demon slayers back in the days. The three little girls, now teens, helped happily as well, and everyone ate the delicious food very excitedly.
You danced, you talked, you ate and you did everything a party was worthy of. When the time was due, the guests slowly left, and you were now alone with your wife.

Happiness overcame you, as you tackled her on the floor in a most tight and excited hug, making her laugh as she patted your back. Tears fell from your eyes, but they weren't tears of sadness. They were tears of joy.
Nezuko smiled down at you, and allowed you to stay like that for as long as you pleased, feeling happy to have you around her, now more than ever.

"Nezuko-chan, I'm so happy to be your spouse forever." you mumbled gently. "I thought...this day would never come. That day, the final day, I thought I was going to die."

"I'm glad that you didn't. It would be painful, and our promise would be unfulfilled." she kindly remarked.

The two of you sat down in a more comfortable position, except that now, you laid your head on her lap, facing her. She was smiling, that angelic smile that only Nezuko could have, and she brushed your hair softly. A smile formed in your own lips, and you closed your eyes, enjoying the proximity.

"I was almost down. But I knew, I could never break a promise made to my beloved Nezuko." you rambled on. "I was really determined to make you happy, Nezuko-chan, I didn't want you to suffer another loss. But I'm glad it turned out alright, and I'm praying everyone else is resting peacefully."

The girl nodded softly, letting out a contented sigh.
After some time, you decided it was best to sleep, and headed back to your room, where you undressed your formal clothes, and put on your comfortable yukata. Nezuko followed the same idea.
With a warm heart and a tired mind, the two of you slept together, holding hands and allowing your minds to wonder off to dreamland, knowing that each and every morning after this, you'd wake up being married to the most beautiful and special woman on Earth.
