Humanity. Such a complex concept to explain, yet, at the very core of its common thoughts, everyone would always agree on one single thing - humans were imperfect.
It was the perfect definition for what humanity should stand for. Perhaps an invention of a concept that each person believed to be something different.
To most people, however, humanity was the quality humans had, the benevolence a creature like such could possess, and the decency that came with us. Kibutsuji mocked this concept.

Demons were vile creatures, created from humans, but deprived from any humanity. Their sole purpose was to kill and feast on such 'pathetic' and 'weak' beings. Their master and creature, was the very man that viewed himself as the most perfect being to ever walk on Earth. In fact, he was supposed to be the definition of perfection, if not for the fact he could not walk under the sun. For years on end he had tried, yet, nothing worked so far.

However, far from all the demon king's complications and worries, a young person lived and led a very calm and peaceful life. Away from the mess, unknown to the dangers of the real world. You were a simple minded person, someone with a big kind heart, and a very sensitive personality, capable of sympathizing with anyone around you. It was for that same reason that you had been, for many times, tricked and abused to some extent. Although your kindness wasn't very reciprocal, you didn't pay no mind to it, enjoying the help you could provide.

It wasn't long until Kibutsuji's world collided with yours, in a moment that, for him, felt like the best two seconds of his entire life. The simple shock of bodies, the quiet panicky stare you shared. In a second, the thousands of years he had lives seemed to have been in vain, as he watched your E/C eyes glisten under the starry sky.

"Forgive me, I wasn't looking where I was going." he said with a smile, holding his had close to his chest.

The first time you met him, you thought it had been too much gentlemanliness for a single person. Blind, that's how you later would describe yourself. Blinded by his stunning looks, his piercing red eyes, and his whole posture and voice. Muzan seemed to be constantly in command, even if he wasn't telling orders, and for that he looked quite the figure, unlike the rest of the people you had met.
A few encounters followed after the small incident, however, none more than five minutes.

Your beauty captivated him, your scent was incredibly addicting and your personality was like toxic poison. Just the action of being around your figure made Kibutsuji question everything else, while also forgetting all of his problems, and be 'human' once again. It was a feeling like no other. That of being taken away from a reality and driven onto what you could call paradise.
Staring at someone for so long was always so unpleasant, however, not to you. The demon king, sometimes was thought, could kill every single person at sight, except for you, the only beauty that caught his genuine and most passionate attention. Along with the Blue Spider Lily, it was only you that made him go absolutely mad, and his demonic eyes could finally shine like those of a lover.

It didn't take long before he had made you fall for him as well, and it wasn't hard. His charm was enough, and the way he lied was so pretty, it made you fall again and again. Your heart fluttered, butterflies made your stomach ache nervously, and your eyes seemed to expand just to engulf his figure better, and catch a sight of the one you so dearly loved. Just like day and night, you two were just the right and perfect balance. You were sure no one would ever pull you apart. Blind and madly in love, it was too late.
You got married on august, a year after you met one another. No one attended your wedding. It wasn't surprising, since you, an orphan with no friends, had just gotten married to the lord of all demons, even if you didn't know that.

The complications began after the marriage. At the very beginning, it was a calm and lovely life. Away from the city commotion, you were more than happy to dedicate your days to doing the work around the house. During the days alone, reuniting with your husband only at night. Kibutsuji had managed to keep his secret away from you for long, however, the growing obsession over you, and the possessiveness were starting to take the best of him, and the gentleman you once met and fell in love with was now an overprotecting man, who forbid you to do the basic things, such as interacting with others that he had no knowledge of, or even walking alone in the village.
Despite feeling wronged, your kind heart and blind love made you agree to such conditions. Because of it, your days were even more tedious and painfully slow.

During the day time, when your husband left for 'work', you made yourself clean the house, find any dust, even when there was none, for the sake of your sanity. If not for that, how were you supposed to even find an activity that kept you distracted? Complaining silently, you continued to cave into Muzan's whims, melting like butter each time he said something absurd with his gorgeous smile. You never resisted, and you couldn't.

Four months passed. The winter month started, and you were preparing the fire when your husband arrived. His gentle steps caught your attention first. Then, his deep sigh and incomprehensible low mumbling. Only then his voice got louder, as he announced his arrival in a sugarcoated tone, making your eyes glisten with delight, and your heart burn with anxiety.
You ran to his side, holding your kimono not to fall. Muzan smiled at you, and once again, his red eyes met your lively E/C ones, and he felt like all of his previous worries were left aside. So ironic, how the very thing he killed could also be the very thing that made his heart swoon, make a mess of his mind.
With cold hands, he held your face and kissed your lips quickly.

That day, after a pleasant time spent together, Muzan was leaving again, after you fell asleep together. Looking at how your figure was beautifully enveloped by the graceful moonlight made him feel bad for having to departure so soon, and his fists clenched in rage, wishing to find the flower soon, and walk with you under the sun for as long as your heart desired. He would do anything for you.
Just as he left, however, a burglar was making his way inside your house, looking for something to steal. The sound of the breaking window was enough to startle you, and the heavy footsteps that followed were surely sufficient to make your eyes widen in horror. Panic took over you as you didn't find your husband sleeping beside you, like you originally had though, and the fear grew as the burglar finally took notice of you.
In fear, you screamed for help. The man roughly rushed to your side and held you by the neck, forcing you to stand up, as he shoved you against a wall, choking you angrily.

The demon king didn't take two steps outside before he entered the house again, hearing your agonizing scream. His blood boiled at the thought of someone hurting your delicate figure, and his eyes looked like those of a predator. He found you almost passed out, tears streaming down your cheeks, the ones he loved dearly. Your eyes watched him, albeit it was a blur, his red eyes brought comfort to you, and a sense of safety. In a matter of seconds, the hand choking you had been sliced without any contact, and screaming was all that was heard. Suddenly, the low voice of your husband mixed with the painful screams. Your eyes finally got used to the light, and you watched in horror the bloody mess your attacker was left in. He was dead, limbs all over the floor, organs spilling out.

Muzan approached your fallen figure with odd care, craddling you in his arms almost instanly, one hand on the back, the other on your hair. He inhaled your scent in relief, feeling your warm body against his cold one. Never ever had he felt so alive like this, having you in his arms.
That night, you had discovered your husband's true identity. Any other would run in fear, shout and perhaps get killed. However, you weren't like this. Your love, your blind and deep love that grew stronger with each passing day never seemed to fade, even after such shock. Muzan held you close, and asked you a simple question that forever changed your life.

"Do you love me, Y/N?"

You gripped his clothes gently, and replied almost instantly.

"Forever."
