Demi POV

 

“So, she can come home with us for the weekend?” I asked. I was really hoping we could finalise Karoline coming home. I really wanted her there with me to experience this with us.

 

“I talked to the doctors, and they don’t think it’s a good idea, but it’s important she experiences this, to see you can live a normal life with an eating disorder. I think she needs this.”

 

“What do I need to do to make it safer for her to come home?”

 

“Get rid of any fear food she has, so she doesn’t overwhelm herself. Remove the scales from your house, please, just while she is there. I would also recommend you let a nurse accompany her during the day while she is home. The nurse will leave after her food has had time to digest.”

 

“What do I do to get a nurse?”

 

“When we temporarily discharge her, we will send a nurse home with her.”

 

“Anything else I should know?” I asked.

 

“Don’t overwhelm her. She should be fine. She is a strong girl, I promise.”

 

“Thank you,” I smiled. I got up from my chair and made my way down the childrens ward. She was going to get to come home, I am so excited. Even if it’s just for three days, it’s enough for me. I just wanted her back in my arms. I knocked and walked in her room, she was on her phone.

 

“Hey, baby girl. How are you?” I asked.

 

“I’m okay, how about you?” Karoline smiled.

 

“Well, I am great, I just got amazing news.”

 

“Which is?”

“You get to come home for tomorrow, Saturday, and Sunday. You come back Sunday night,” I smiled.

 

“Really?!”

 

“Yeah baby girl. We have rules, but what matters is you are going to be in your own bed for a little while,” I smiled. I was so excited.

 

“What are the rules?” she asked.

 

“There will be a nurse accompanying you during meals; she will probably give you space, but she needs to be there.”

 

“Okay, I’m cool with that,” she smiled.

 

“Leave your stuff here; we have stuff at home for you.”

 

“Okay,” she smiled.
