Ch.5

KAROLINE POV

I get out today. I have to meet with my doctor, and then I can leave. Naya is gonna sign for my release. I am so happy to get out of here. I can walk, still a little wobbly, but I can walk. I can't run or anything but I won't need to. I am gonna be out of here by 12:00, then we are going to lunch. Sky is staying with Marissa, and then Naya, Bea, and I are going shopping for a new car. I get to pick it, that I didn't like my last car, but I want to pick it this time.

"You ready to be out of here?" Naya asked.

"Oh my god yes," I laughed.

"I bet, I am ready to be out of here," Naya smiled.

We had everything packed up: our clothes, Sky's playpen, and then other stuff we have just accumulated.

"Your mom told me to tell you to get stuff for school, so that way you don't feel overwhelmed and get whatever you need or want," Naya said, "to a point."

"Spoiled," Bea sang from next to me.

"No, my momma just likes to give me what I want," I laughed, realizing what I just said.

"Alright, so not spoiled, just spoiled?" Bea asked.

"I hate when you are right, but its not like I flaunt it or anything. I don't rub it in people's faces. I just have a lot and am very blessed," I tried to explain.

"Alright, well that is true," she reluctantly agreed.

There was a knock at the door and the doctor walked in smiling.

"Hey, Karoline, how are you today?" he asked.

"I am excited. I can get out of here," I told him.

"Okay, so I am going to bring you to the hallway, and I want you to walk up and down it," he said.

I walked to the door, slowly, but I got there. We got to the hallway, and I walked up and down the hallway until he told me to stop.

"Alright, you seem to be fine. I want you to take daily walks. No running at all. Take it easy; I know you are going to be going to school next Monday. Take that easy, walk slowly, and don't rush yourself. I am clearing you to drive, but don't let me see you back in here," he smiled.

"Yes, sir, I will even let you check out the car I am going to get," I laughed.

"Will do," he smiled.

He was by far one of my favorite doctors. He will from now on be my go to hospital doctor.

"Thank you so much for taking care of her, Dr. Middleton," Naya told him.

"No problem. She is a fighter," he said.

"Okay, so that is all. If you have any problems come back here, but, if not, I will see you in three weeks for a check-up," he said smiling.

Once he left, I said, "I am so glad most of this happened over Spring Break. I really only missed two weeks."

"Same. Alright, I have signed the release forms; lets get out of here," Naya squealed.

We all walked out of the hospital, and, much to the nurses dismay, I didn't ride in a wheelchair. I have spent too much time in one.

"Oh shit, guys. I didn't say goodbye to Zack. I will be back," I said.

I walked back to the elevator and went to his room.

"Zack," I said.

"Mhm," he moaned.
