KAROLINE'S POV

"Naya, I will take Sky to daycare, but I am not able to pick Sky up," I said.

"Alright, why?" she asked.

"I am spending the day with Bea; I will be back before 10," I said.

"What are you guys doing today?" she asked.

"Well, this is my last Saturday before school starts, and so, we are probably just gonna spend the day just us. I am gonna get busy when school starts again, and she has to go back to work full-time soon, as well," I said.

"Alright all good," she smiled.

I went to my room and got ready. It was still early in the morning, like, 10 in the morning. I got into my bathroom and curled my hair slightly. I brushed through it, making sure it was still casual. I did a slight makeup look, knowing Bea didn't like a lot of makeup on me. Today was pretty casual, probably spending most of our day at the beach. I went into my closet and picked out a blue tank top, distressed oversized shorts, and a purple oversized cardigan. It was simple and cute. I grabbed a backpack handbag and filled it with the things I needed.

I walked downstairs and said goodbye to Naya. I grabbed Sky and took her to my car.

"Sissy, it's hot in here," she complained.

"I know, hold on. Let me put on the air conditioner," I said.

I buckled her up and went to the front seat and turned the air conditioner fully on.

"Sissy, you got a new car. Why you get new car?" she asked.

"Remember when sissy stayed in a different place for a while?" I asked.

"Yeah," she said.

"My car got really hurt while I was in it," I tried to explain.

"I get hurt now?" she asked.

"No, babe, you won't get hurt. I will make sure of it," I promised her.

"When is mommy coming back?" she asked.

"Soon, baby, soon," I said.

"I miss her," she said.

"I know, baby, but she will be back soon, and mommy has to work. You have momma; momma is here," I said.

"I know, but I want my mommy," she whined.

"Baby, whining isn't going to help," I said, looking at her through the rear-view window.

"I sowy, sissy," she said.

"No, baby, don't be," I said.

I sometimes forgot that she was three.

"Sissy, we facetime mommy tonight?" she asked.

"I will check on that," I laughed.

"Yay! Is Uncle Nick gonna be there?" she asked.

"I doubt it," I laughed.

"Why you laugh?" she asked.

"I was laughing with you," I said.

She scrunched her face up tight and looked very confused.

"What?" I asked.

"I wasn't laughing," she said, not having a very angry face.

"I'm sorry, baby," I said, trying to contain the roar of laughter threatening to spill out.

"Look, we are here," she squealed.
