Richelle hated Java Junction. What coffee shop doesn't have chai lattes? If it wasn't obvious, she loved chai lattes, especially in winter. She didn't really like most hot drinks, so she practically lived on chai lattes. Like six a day. That's not to say she drank them non stop for three months a year, and didn't touch them the other nine. She had chai lattes all the time. So it was very important to her that Java Junction sold chai lattes, especially since her usual chai latte coffee shop had closed down.

Noah had heard Richelle's opinions on Java Junction every day for a week now, and was seriously starting to regret that he had suggested that they rehearse together everyday so they would both make A troupe this year. Yes, his dancing had gotten a lot better with her help, but he actually liked Java Junction. Their food was nicer than Hildalgos, and the only thing they didn't seem to have on their menu was chai lattes. Which honestly was not that big of a deal. Richelle was the only person he had ever met who actually liked chai lattes. He had literally thrown up after that one time she had made him try one, and he couldn't understand why Richelle could drink them at all, let alone several times a day.

But he cared about her. He liked her. She was his friend and he wanted her to be happy. Which was why he was currently having an argument with the staff at Java Junction, trying to convince them to add chai lattes to their menu.

"But why?" The Java Junction staff member looked very unimpressed. From Noah's half hour argument with her, it was clear that she hated chai lattes just as much as he did. In fact, possibly even more. But he really needed chai lattes to be added to the menu.

"Because my friend likes them, and she pretty much lives on them and the place she usually gets them from just shut down, and this will cheer her up?"

"Chai lattes are bad for business" the Java Junction girl scowled.

"How would you know if you don't sell them?"

"The place that used to sell them shut down."

"You don't know that it was because they sold chai lattes." Although, if Noah was being honest with himself, he thought that might have been a contributing factor. People don't trust coffee shops that sell chai lattes. They were weird.

"It probably was." The Java Junction girl began to move away to serve the next customer, trying to make it clear to Noah that the conversation was over.

"Look, please can you just consider it. Talk to your manager, maybe?" Noah suggested. But the Java Junction girl gave no indication she had heard him, and Noah sighed in defeat.

Which was why he was surprised when, a week later, he and Richelle walked into Java Junction to find a new item on the menu - chai lattes.

By then, both Richelle and Noah had both given up on chai lattes ever being added to the menu (although she wasn't sure that Noah wanted them to be). She had finally allowed Noah to convince her that she should come to Java Junction and try something else. Only to find out that for some reason the coffee shop had changed their menu. Instantly, she knew Noah had talked to them - she had refused to step foot in the coffee shop, and Noah was the only one she had complained about the lack of chai lattes to.

And she knew he thought that being able to get a chai latte would cheer her up, but the fact that he had gone out of his way to get chai lattes added to the menu was what really made her feel happy. Because it was such a nice thing to do, and it reminded her that he still cared about her, even though they had drifted apart a bit when he had joined the internationals team. And knowing that he was still there for her and they were still friends made her feel warmer than any chai latte ever could.

My stories never go the way I want them too. This was meant to be nochelle being cute and falling in love. Instead we got this weird sort of friendship thing. I didn't want it but it just happened
