Meals with Benefits

Jazmine POV

I jerk up from my bed and look at my watch. Shit! It's 7:50!! I have 10 minutes to look presentable for dinner. Oh I wish I had Piper with me now.

I pull on my hoodie and glance around. The cabin is very empty. Shit. Shit. Shit. Shit. I'm so late. I quickly run a brush through my hair and pull it up into a ponytail, grabbing my string bag, I run out of the cabin to the mess hall.

I'm greeted by a Annabeth and Thalia. "Look what the cat dragged in." Thalia rolls her eyes and comes up to me. "Feeling better? You sure look better."

I roll my eyes at Thalia's 'kind' words. "Thanks. I guess." I wonder over to Piper. She gives me a giant hug.

"You see. You are feeling better already. A little pampering makes everything better." I laugh and start walking with Piper over to a tall blonde male. He leanes over and kisses Piper.

"Hey there Beauty Queen. Who's this?"

"My name is Jazmine." I put my hand out to shake his. He pulls me into a hug.

"My name's Jason." I grin, Piper and Jason are just alike.

We all head over to the buffet table and grab dinner. It smells heavenly. Roast beef, pepper and mashed potatoes.

I sit down to eat when I notice Piper and Thalia dumping the best part of their meal in different fire bins. I go over to where Piper is standing. "What are you doing? That's the best part of the steak."
I grab at the steak. Piper smacks my hand away.

"It's the offering to our parents." Thalia rolls her eyes.

Piper explains it a little better. "You offer your godly parent the best part of your meal to show your thanks to them."

I sniff the aroma of the fire smoke. It smelt amazing. No wonder the gods asked for it.

I toss some of my savory meal into a random bin. I look up to see Nico walking over with Will trailing behind him. Nico nods towards me and dumps some of his McNuggets and Milkshake into the fire.

"McDonalds huh. Nice choice."
Nico grunts and starts to pull Will over to their seat.

I walk back over to where Piper is sitting and sit down with her. "Can I eat now?" I nod towards everyone else eating. Piper shakes her head yes as she shovels the steak knot her mouth.

I smile and start eating my meal as well.
