The Beginning, The End (Prologue)

AN: There will be music included occasionally, but it's not required, I just recommend listening to it. They're basically Pokémon battle themes, so it really fits some areas! :)

Mario lept up and delt one last decisive blow to Count Bleck's protective shield, effectively shattering it for good. Mario landed back on the ground and watched as the Count twitched in mid-air, seeming to have all of his life force drained out. Suddenly all of the black crystal fragments detached from him and clattered to the ground, save for the fragment on his head.

Count Bleck fell to the ground limp, the black crystals scattering around him. He wheezed heavily as his hands prevented himself from completely collapsing. Mario walked forward, his brother Luigi and Timpani beside him. Timpani put on a somber expression as she looked down at him, heartbroken seeing him so weak and frail.

"E-excellent..." Count Bleck coughed.

From the far side of the Inner Sanctum, Nastasia quickly ran inside, her expression showing worry and concern. She ran up beside him, her hands outstretched as if to help pick him up, but hesitating to touch him.

"Count?" Nastasia asked.

"My HP is almost gone... Attack me once more and all this power will dispatch from Count Bleck..." Count Bleck told the two heroes.

Timpani shook her head as she stepped forward.

"Why must it end like this?" Timpani asked.

Count Bleck coughed again and shakingly looked up at her, his eyes fading back to their natural blue.

"T-Timpani... When I thought I lost you... I searched long and hard and yet could not find anything..." He murmured, "But it's too late now. Count Bleck has done so much irreversible damage... Dispatch me and this power will be released back to where it belongs."

"Blumiere, stop it! You promised we'd be together! You promised!" Timpani cried.

He weakly looked up at her and offered a smile.

"Just knowing that you will live on in these worlds... gives me peace..." He told her.

Timpani choked on a sob and shook her head.

"But... We're finally together again..." Timpani murmured.

Suddenly, Nastasia jumped in surprise and tried pushing Count Bleck, her work effortless.

"Count, look out!" Nastasia exclaimed.

Seemingly out of nowhere, a Shadow Ball attack slammed into Nastasia's back, slamming her to the ground as she immediately fainted from the blow. Mario, Luigi, Timpani, and Count Bleck all looked at her in shock.

"N-Nastasia!" Count Bleck said.

"Ah ha ha ha ha ha... Silly assistant! Absorbing my attack to protect him? What an adorably hopeless gesture."

All of them turned their heads to see Dimentio step out from the shadows, a grin underneath his hood.

"I was about to give him the everlasting peace he so DESPERATELY wants!" Dimentio stated.

Timpani gawked at him.

"Dimentio?! You're... Alive?!" Timpani exclaimed.

Dimentio laughed to himself, earning snarls from the two Mario brothers.

"Alive? Silly Butterfree - I am a GHOST-type Pokémon. Of course, I am still here to haunt you, ah ha ha." Dimentio laughed, "Even if the Count dies the power of the Blinding One won't disappear as long as I am here to control it..."

All of them looked to the black shards scattered around Count Bleck, knowing that was what he was referring to.

"If they make greeting cards to thank Pokémon for helping with evil plans, I owe you one," Dimentio told them.

"What are you saying?!" Timpani exclaimed.

"I'm saying that you no longer have any value to me. So I am ending your journey." Dimentio stated.

"Not on my watch!" Mario shouted.

Mario reared back, ready to strike.

"Mario, wait!" Timpani yelled.

Mario sprung a Tackle attack at Dimentio. The red-capped Pikachu hit Dimentio and bounced back, skidding across the floor. Dimentio laughed in response, completely unaffected.

"Mario, Ghost-types aren't affected by Normal-type attacks!" Timpani reminded him.

Mario grunted as he righted himself.

"Ah ha ha ha ha! Neat attack! My turn." Dimentio stated.

Dimentio straightened the charm on his collar, revealing a symbol embedded within that was reminiscent of a Mimikyu.

"What is that?" Luigi questioned.

"A Z-Crystal!" Timpani exclaimed, "Impossible!"

Dimentio chuckled and turned the gem, allowing it to start glowing.

"Oh, I wouldn't say impossible." Dimentio laughed.

He twisted the crystal one last time and a magic aura flared around him, his eyes focused in a frenzy. Dimentio whipped out his hand, grabbing ahold of Luigi with a Shadow Claw. He then grinned at Count Bleck, showing off a toothy smirk.

"And of course, I'll be needing that crystal from you, Count Bleck!" Dimentio exclaimed.

Dimentio used another Shadow Claw to grab ahold of the crystal on Count Bleck's forehead, causing him to freeze up as if he had been paralyzed. The jester grinned even wider as he pried out the object, Count Bleck letting out a scream as it was practically ripped out of his skull.

The former Count collapsed in a heap as Dimentio laughed, holding the crystal in one shadow hand and gripping Luigi in the other.

"Luigi!!!" Mario cried.

Timpani rushed to her fiancé's side, his colors now returning back to normal.

"Now, ladies and gentlemon... Get ready for the greatest magic show you'll ever see!" Dimentio exclaimed.

Dimentio threw out his cloak while bringing Luigi and the crystal from Count Bleck to himself, blinding them all with light. Timpani and Mario both squinted and turned away as the light filled the room, threatening to take away their eyesight.

The light faded away and standing in Dimentio and Luigi's place was now a larger creature. Timpani and Mario both gawked as they looked up at the new beast that was practically made of light. It bellowed an eerie laugh as it flexed its four arms, clenching and un-clenching its hands. Its tail flicked out and a wide-smile spread ear-ear, Super Dimentio coming to.

"AH HA HA HA HA! My full power recognized!" He exclaimed, "Finally... My light has returned to me!"

"N-no! Stop!" Blumiere weakly cried.

The large beast hummed and looked down at him, seeming to have completely forgotten about him.

"Count Bleck! You looked so frail and pathetic that I nearly forgot about you!" Super Dimentio laughed, "I can fix THAT!"

Super Dimentio landed his feet on the ground and stomped over to him, smiling wickedly at him. The giant creature clutched Blumiere with one of its large talons, picking him up.

"Let him go!" Mario shouted.

Super Dimentio turned to glare at Mario, Blumiere in his grip.

"Does the small Pikachu think he can stop ME?" Super Dimentio questioned, "You make me laugh."

Timpani stepped forward with a harrumph.

"And a small Butterfree!" Timpani exclaimed.

Blumiere turned his head to look at them, wincing in pain as he did.

"T-Timpani..." Blumiere choked out.

Super Dimentio chuckled in response, grinning down at the two of them.

"I accept your challenge..." Super Dimentio hissed, "L POWER!!!"
