Nate-

We revved our engines.

I had promised myself not to get into another street race a year ago, thanks to an accident which I almost lost my life to.

And here I am, doing it again. Not that I wanted to, but you know how it is with males and our big, fat egos.

Harry smirked.

"Ya scared?" He sniggered. Great. He must've noticed how my hands were shaking.

"Scared? Pfft, the word 'scared' is not in my dictionary." I proclaimed. He rolled his eyes at me.

Marcus came to the center. "On the count of 3, you race 3 rounds! Bonus points for wicked stunts!" Marcus had to raise his voice over our loud engines. Harry gave me a nod. I nodded back at him.

"3! 2! 1! You're on!" Marcus yelled.

I sped off immediately. Harry had been momentarily surprised, but he was soon hot on my heels.

We were halfway through round one. I decided not to pull off any stunts on the first round. I had to familiarize myself with the route first.

Meanwhile, Harry was already pulling off a stunt. He was riding hands free. It lasted a few seconds before he had to take control of his bike again.

We were now halfway through the second round now. My time comes.... Now!

I steadied the bike first, before lifting my legs up onto the seat until I was squatting on it. I slowly stood up, hands still on the handles. I could hear cheers from the other guys. It boosted my alpha ego. I let go of the handles. It lasted for about a few seconds as well. Then just as I was about to sit again, the bike swerved. It went out of control.

Next thing I know, I felt pain so intense, I blacked out.

The last thing I heard and saw, was marcus running over to me yelling "Call the ambulance!"

Dandelion-

I might, or might not have mentioned this, but over this past couple of weeks, I had been trying a couple of medications to see which one works best. Lucas visited sometimes to keep me company when Crystal wasn't able to. Overall, he was a good friend.

"He might as well be a WWE junior wrestler!" Lucas joked. We were talking about River. Over this past 2 weeks, River and Lucas had became really good pals. They clicked immediately!

I giggled. "Yeah, I totally agree on that one. His hugs do feel like tackles."

Lucas chuckled along with me. Then his phone rang.

"Yeah, hello? Nate?" He said. Why does the name Nate sound so familiar?

"Lucas? Yeah that's me." He said, frowning. What was wrong?

His face paled. I saw fear, concern, and hopefulness swirl in his eyes. "Y-yeah, I'll be right over. I'm in the same hospital right now." He said, voice shaking. He hung up.

"What's wrong? Where are you going?" I asked, concerned. He shook his head, stress taking over his boyish features, making him seem 10 years older.

"My best friend...he..." he sighed. I prodded him with my eyes.

"He got into a very serious car accident."

Lucas-

You know the feeling when the hospital calls, and say that your best friend is walking on the thin thread between life and death? Yeah. I felt pretty much it right now.

After I told Dandy, she actually shooed me out of her ward. That girl...

I rushed to the emergency section of the hospital. And there, I saw a bloody mess of what would have been Nate, being rushed into the room where they perform operations.
