Nate-

"C'mon Nate. It's been 2 days. You got to at least eat something." Lucas tried persuading me, but he knew that it wouldn't work.

I've been sitting by Dandelion's bedside, waiting for her to wake up for 2 days, but nothing happened. Just the smell of air sanitizer and the sound of the heart monitor beeping.

"She won't want to see you like this. I know her best, Nate. She hates it when someone pines and worries for her." Crystal said, raising her brow at me. I sighed and turned to Lucas.

"Call me immediately if anything happens. Anything at all." I said sternly before hurrying off to get a quick bite. Crystal was right. Dandelion wouldn't want to see me like this, but I wanted to be there for her when she woke up.

I was walking down the hallway in search of the sandwich machine when someone tugged me to a corner.

"Wha-" I started, but was cut off by my father. "The press is here. You'd better do your part, son."

I looked at him in confusion. Why would the press be here?

"Your dear mother blabbered to the press that her son has a new girlfriend." he explained.

"But I have to-"

"Come along now, Nate. Nothing's more important than the media. You like the attention, right?" he cut me off.

"Actually, I-"

"Of course you do! Just like your mother. Now-"

"Dad!" I snapped impatiently. His rambling siezed.

"There's this...girl. She changed me, dad. I'm not who I used to be anymore. I'm a better person now, and... I really love her." I admitted. I could swear I saw my father's eyes tear up a little, but ruled it as my own imagination. My father didn't give two shits about me.

"And now, She's lying on the hospital bed fighting to wake up. I want to be there for her when she does, dad. I don't wanna go to some shit press thingy."

My father mulled over it for a few moments when my phone rang.

"Hello?" I answered it, and my father watched me.

"Nate? Dandelion's waking up! Get your ass back here now!" Lucas' frantic voice said urgently.

I hung up and looked at my father pleadingly. He gave me a small, proud grin before lightly pushing me towards the direction of Dandelion's room.

"Go get her, Nate." he whispered cheekily. "Your mother is going to be so mad." he chuckled as he walked away.

I blinked.

Who knew my dad was that cool?

Dandelion-

"Where am I?" I asked my mom.

"Didn't I just come back from summer camp? We had spaghetti, right?"

My mother looked torn.

"Dandelion, could you tell me who all these people are?" Dr. Zake requested. I knew most of them.

"Mom, Crystal, Dad, and River." I said and giggled when River hugged me tight.

"But... who are you two?" I asked the stranger boys. One with dark hair and one with blonde hair, beside my best friend.

Hurt flashed across their eyes, especially the one with black hair, but he masked it up quickly.

What did I do?

My dad had asked me to identify each one of them to check my memory or something.

What's wrong with my memory?

"Dandelion darling... the doctors have confirmed that... you have partial amnesia." my dad said gently.

Guilt clouded my mother's face.

What..? I was confused.

I had just come back from summer camp! Where did all my hair go? Why was I in a hospital? Why was my head bandaged?

"She doesn't remember anything after the day she came back from camp..." my mother muttered softly, but everyone heard her.

I could've sworn that I saw tears building up in the eyes of the guy with black hair.

Did I know him?

"What's wrong with me?" I asked urgently, not able to take anymore suspense.

"Dandelion... You had brain cancer." The guy with black hair said, hurt and guilt hung thick in his voice.

I... what?
