Alex and the rest of the gang woke up to Vella's 10 A.M. alarm that morning feeling tired and uneasy. Nobody could pinpoint it, but something felt off.

Maybe it was because everyone in the house woke up feeling cold. Maybe it was because almost everyone got up in the middle of the night at some point. Maybe it was because Essentia and Rory weren't in the room when everyone else woke up. Nobody could really understand what troubled them that morning.

"God, I feel sick to my stomach." Alex groggily stated. He sat up in his bed and rubbed his head.

"I might have stepped on you when I got out of bed last night. Sorry about that." Michael apologized from inside of the hamper.

"Well, I'm glad I'm not the only one who had to get up last night." Vella admitted. "The fluff-bomb next to me has a vice-like cuddle."

Chondra shot her a playful look. "Vella, you sing snore in your sleep and I have front row tickets every night."

Claudio giggled from the closet. "Can we get some breakfast? I saw Reese's Puffs in your pantry and I want some."

The rest of the group mumbled in agreement and prepared to go downstairs. "Hey Rory. If you want to come downstairs with us, you're more than welcome." He peeked underneath his bed, but Rory wasn't there. Alex figured that he went somewhere else to sleep and went downstairs.

Alex noticed that all of the upstairs doors were open, including the door to his mom's room. He walked downstairs to see nobody in the living room. He walked into the dining room and saw everyone sans Rory sitting at the table.

"Alex sweetie! We were waiting for you and Rory to come down." Alex's mother said.

"✨ Yes, darling, did you see Rory at all? ✨" Essentia 2000 inquired fabulously.

"I was just about to ask you guys that." Alex said. He began internally monologuing while the others went to look for him. Oops. I hope he didn't do the bad. All of his thoughts were something similar to this, getting more and more redundant.

"Did anyone think to call his mommy? Maybe he went home and forgot to tell us?" Chondra suggested.

"I asked his mother earlier and she thought that he was with us." Alex's mom replied worriedly.

"He could've went outside?" Vella wondered. "It didn't snow much last night, so any tracks that were made might be visible."

Everyone decided to go outside to investigate. Well, almost everyone. Vella had to drag a monologuing Alex with her.

Claudio led the way. As soon as he opened the door, he and the others saw smallish footprints going behind the house. He followed them while advising the others not to step in the footprints. They went around to the back of the house until the footprints reached a stop.
