High School Days

Chapter five

Gray's POV

When I get to school I walk to the gym to talk to Coach Gildarts. Basketball season is about to begin and I'm fired up! (Hey that's Natsu' s line XD)

"Yo coach!" I say running up to his office. I looks inside and see he's not there. I sigh and decide to go ahead to go to class.

~Time skip to lunch~

"Gray-sama!!" I shiver and run to the cafeteria as fast as I can. That girl...She never gives up does she? I bump into someone and almost fall to the ground. "Ow..." I look down and see Lucy laying on the ground. "Gomen..." I say and help her up. She glares at me then sighs. "Gray-sama there you are!" I her say. I look back and see the pale bluenette I've been trying to avoid all week. "Juvia you've gotta stop chasing me. It's creepy!" I yell. Juvia looks like she's on the verge of tears. "Juvia is sorry...Juvia just wants to be with Gray-sama..." She says apologetically. "Um.." I hear someone say. I look back a very confused looking Lucy. Juvia glares down at her and Lucy shivers. Oh no....

"H-hi I'm Lucy..." Lucy say nervously holding her hand out. Juvia slaps it away. She stomps past me and glares at Lucy menacingly. "Love Rival!" Juvia yells and walks away as if nothing ever happened. Lucy turns to me and gives me 'what the heck' look. "The duck is her problem..I just met her and she called me her love rival!" She says and pouts. I feel my cheeks turn a little red. That pout is adorable. Stop that Gray!

"U-uh sorry Lucy. She has this huge crush on me for some years now and each year I reject her. She doesn't give up though." I say looking away. I hear her giggle then she full on laughs at me! I turn red in anger. I pin her against her the wall and glare down at her. She tells and starts to tremble slightly.

"It's not funny...she's dangerous." I say darkly. I know how Juvia can be. She tries to make any girl who's close to me life a living hell. I remember one year my friend Roxy killed herself because of Juvia! She says she had nothing to do with it but I know better than to believe her. Lucy stops trembling and looks up at me with determined eyes.

"I'm not scared of her Gray. I'm your friend. And she can't stop me from being your friend." She says smiling. I'm on the verge of tears but I just smirk. "Tough one aren't you...alright. Just be careful ok? I don't want you to get hurt." I say gently. I let go of her.

"Let's eat lunch together!" Lucy says and grabs my hand and she drags me to the cafeteria.

~Time skip end of school~

I wait near the gates for Lucy. When I see her I smile. "I guess you're making this a habit." She says giggling. I chuckle. "You're not stopping are you?" I say with a grin on my face. "Nah...I actually like this. It's nice to have someone walk me home." Lucy says.

We pass a book store and she stops. I look at her with a confused expression. "Aren't you ready to go home?" I say playfully. She smiles a little. "I just want to take a look inside really quickly. You can go on without me." She says and walks in the store. I follow her in. She turn to me looking puzzled. "What? I'll wait. There's no rush for me to get home." I say and smile. She smiles back and disappear s behind a shelf.

After 30 minutes she comes back with a huge stack of books in her hands and goes to cashier. After buying them I pick up the stack and start walking to the door. I feel a hand tug at my shirt. "Gray I can carry my own books." Lucy says trying to grab the stack out my hands. "It looked like you were having a hard time carrying them to the register. It's gonna be worse walking to your house. Don't worry about it. I got it." I say and open the door. I let her walk out first and I follow behind. Once we get to her house she unlocks the door and we walk in. "Where do you want me to put these?" I ask. "Just put them on the coffee table." She says and walk to what looks like her room. I place the books on the table and look around. Her house is pretty nice. She comes back out of her room and walk up to me. "Well I guess I'll see you tomorrow." She says. "Yeah" I reply.

I start walking towards the door then stop. I turn back around and grab Lucy's arm and pull her close to me. "G-Gray...What are you..." I hear her say. I lower my head into her neck. "Thank you..." I whisper in her ear. She shivers. I let go of her and smile when I see her blushing face. "Well see you tomorrow!" I say and walk out of her house quickly.

After that day...things changed. Good and bad.
