High School Days

Chapter 18

Gray's POV
It's been a few months since Lucy has been released. Right now I'm on my way to pick her up for our date.
Juvia went to jail so we can finally be together!

When I get to her house I knock on the door.
The door opened and Lucy stepped out. I blushed. She was wearing a strapless pink tank and a short black skirt.
"Um Gray?" She asked innocently. I snapped out of my daze and smiled down at her.

"Sorry Lu..Ready?" She nods happily and close the door behind her. I take her hand and lead the way. I didn't tell her where we were going for our date.

"Gray can you please tell me where we're going now?" She asks 30 minutes after we start walking.
"No. It's a surprise and we're almost there." I say and keep walking. When I see the trees I stop and turn to face Lucy.
"Close your eyes." She looks at me suspiciously but then closes her eyes. I guide her carefully through the woods. After a few minutes of walking I tell her to open her eyes.
She gasps at the site in front of her.
I brought me and Lucy to a special place in the woods. There was a crystal blue lake and a meadow all around it.
"Gray...It's beautiful here!" She says and looks at me with a huge smile on her face. I smile gently at her.
"I know. But let's eat before we have some fun." I say. She looks confused at first but then she sees the basket of food at her feet.
I sit down and pat the spot next to me. She sits next me. We take out the food and eat.

By the time we're done eating it's close to sunset. I see Lucy shiver.
"You cold?" I ask with concern in my voice. She nods. I take of my jacket and wrap it around her.
"Thank you." I chuckle at her blushing face.
She lays on my shoulder which catches me off guard but I let her stay there.
"Hey Gray.."
"Hm?" I look down at her.
"I love you." I feel my cheeks turning red and I smile.
"I love you too Lucy." I lean down towards her and press my lips against hers.
It was the best way to end our date.

I walked Lucy home a few minutes later. When we were at her door I bent down and pulled her into a passionate kiss. When I pull back I see that she turned into a tomato.
"W-well I guess this is good night." She says and turns to open the door.
"Night Lucy." I say and turn to leave until I feel a small hand grab mine.
"Gray...Promise me that whatever happens...we'll always be together." I turn around and look at her.
"Of course." With that she smiles and and walks into her house. I turn away and walked to mine feeling like the happiest man alive.
