The small ferret girl ran through the woods. She was running away done with the life she lived and sick of how she was treated. Soon enough she found herself God knows where and darkness was coming fast.
She came to a clearing with a cave and it seemed like a good idea. It was still light enough to see in and there were many holes and cracks to the surface. She touched the wall as she came in and it was cool and smooth. She smiled enjoying the nature of this area. Ferrets liked "cave" like settings so she was very happy. She began walking further in exploring finding a large door. She was surprised but tried to open it. When it did it was much darker in the next room besides the middle where it was bright. Shadows lined the light area seeming to come into a large knot or something according to the shadow.
She looked up curiously finding lines and chains along the ceiling and found him. A large hawk hybrid. His wings tangled in the ropes and chains which binded him There. She thought he was dead but he didn't look dead despite his state. She walked in the room looking and following the ropes. Soon she found some spots where it was tied close to the floor and she looked around unsure what she should do. It took a moment but she undid the rope searching for other ones to undo.
After the first rope was untied the second one caused a reaction it moved unleashing the man's arm which made him shock into a clearly awake state. He brought his arm up grabbing another rope to stop himself from falling into other ropes. He looked down at her clearly surprised but his face softened soon into the glare. His wrists were bound by the chains. She looked harder making sure not to take the ropes that would cause him to fall or be hurt.
Soon they were down to three ropes. She didn't know what to do now it was all important to keeping him safe. He nodded to the side and she looked over. There was a small lever there and she pulled it. The floor rumbled and in large circles the middle of the room began rising into stairs. She waited for it to stop before walking up apprehensive but intrigued. She was soon face to face with him his wings still caught in the rope and his wrists still chained. He just looked at her with interest. The chains kept his hands from being close and the chains weren't even locked he just couldn't reach to undo them. The latch didn't allow for it to be open one handed either. She undid them and when she did he pushed the ropes getting his wings out and escaping from his binds.
He stood there for a moment before looking up at her smiling slightly. He lunged forward grabbing her his wings spreading wide before they shot upwards through the stained glass ceiling. Most being clear but the sides were stained beautiful shades of deep blue. She was protected by his wings front he glass and instinctively to not fall she clung to him for dear life. Soon they were soaring along the sky. Much more peacefully then before and she opened her eyes to see a gorgeous scene. The sun was setting hues of violet and pink spread along with the sun's light.
She smiled never seeing the world from a. Birds view. She was still nervous about the man who jsut suddenly grabbed her but he hadn't hurt her...and she had no where else to go anyways. Soon he landed them in a landing by a pond. There was an old destroyed house but as soon as their feet touch the ground it seemed to build itself. Even flowers and plants grew in fast forward. She looked on intrigued never seeing anything like that before. "My name's shade." He said quietly behind her. Still holding her. She leaned back into him she couldn't tell why she wanted to do it but she did.
"N-Nora." She said softly. he smiled softly. "Welcome to your new home. Thanks for saving me." He said softly. She smiled but then looked confused. "What if I already had a home?" She asked jsut wondering. "The terms were clear on the cave walls. You did...you did read them before freeing me correct?" He asked looking intently at her. She shook her head. He blushed and looked away. "You-...there should be a copy inside just read it. It's too late to back out. It's not my...it's not really my contract. Those who put me away made it for anyone who'd willingly let me out..thank you again for that." He said.
