The world was darkening. Light being taken by the darkness as humans made clear who they preferred. Cults formed in the human kingdoms. Soon enveloping their entire lives. They worshiped the lord's of hell, getting gifts for sacrifices.

Shade was a lord. Uninterested in humans or their praise. He had work to do. He kept humans out of hell. Just about the only one who did their job in hell out of 9 lords. There was only one reason a human would be in hell and that's if they're in the trade. Whether slave or sex slave. Most went willingly or were the sacrifice. He'd been invited many times to auctions or open houses but he didn't partake. He didn't like the trade very much. But when you are specifically invited as a main guest you can't really deny. Especially as a lord it could cause discontent among his sector.

He sighed at the letter on his mahogany desk. It had vein looking structures of gold through the entire desk. He pushed his chair back getting up. He grabbed a deep obsidian colored robe that had golden embroidering of snakes and lizards. He put on a golden tunic under it that was padded on the inside with steel. It was rare but some demons thought they could defeat a lord. So it's best to be prepared despite being basically immune shit hurts.

He arrived late and was surprised to find they waited much to his dismay for him. They didn't make a big deal of him being there he assumed as not to put him off from it. He, being somewhat of a hermit, had a lot of gold saved back. Much more then even the king of hell. So they had wanted him to come there and spend much of it. The auction started with some cursed paintings, hexed items, boring demon decor. Then they moved on to the humans making him roll his eyes. He stopped watching keeping his eyes averted even reading the items for actions over and over avoiding the human section. After a while he could tell the operator of the function was getting desperate to get his attention on someone or something.

He finally made an announcement. "We are going to start the special item section early there will be more items after but our human portion of the auction is over. As many have noticed the lord shade was requested to join us this hellish evening." He said giving a fake ass excited smile. There was a small applause annoying shade more. He hated so much attention. "We are very humbled to have you here with us and we hope you find something if interest in the rest of the auction." He said bowing slightly. "Now let's get on with it! We have a very very rare individual. A high honor to own indeed." He said. A door opened in the side of the stage and out came a girl fighting against the chains on her. Her clothes were revealing and the chains looked to have dug into her wrists with how hard she was fighting. "Nora! she's a fighter. Took out many demons. One of the only ones in hell. An angel." He said as she was fully forced through the door showing off her wings. Shade straightened up in his seat. He always felt sympathy more then an average lord for the humans but he felt so strong for this angel. He'd seen an angel before. Never caring what happened to them they were the enemy. Only owned to be humiliated. But seeing her bruised wrists, clear want to be away, wings loosing feathers on stage even as she struggled against the chains. Trying to fly but you could visibly see they'd removed many flight feathers.

He felt rage boil in his gut. A growl low in his throat dying before it would be heard. The chain was pulled so she was in the middle of the stage still struggling. "Alright let's start the bid at 3 million gold." "3 million here!" "3 million 2 hundred thousand" "3 million 5 hundred thousand!" Demons leaped up making bids. He growled the bids insulting low, the starting price insultingly low. "20 million." He said simply not even loud. The auctioneer damn near dropped his gavel. After a moment of silence he spoke "20 million going once. Twice...sold." he said smirking. She was taken off the stage and he knew he'd have to wait until the end of the auction. He waited expecting it to go quickly but just the first item took damn near ten minutes.

He worried how she was if she was ok. They could be hurting her for all he knew. It angered him how they treated her. He doesn't even like angels. But something about the look in her eyes. Not jsut regular fear. Gutteral absolute terror. And as he listened to people auction it annoyed him. Sooner bought he began outbidding everyone. Paying outrageous prices for dumb items he didn't want jsut to make it go quickly. People seemed surprised. As the auction ended he got up walking to the stage as did others who won items. He already had the check written handing it to the owner of the auction house. He had some of his workers get the useless items as he only cared about one thing.
