Biological Home: The biological mother passed away in a car accident about 6 months after the baby's birth. The biological father suffers from bipolar disorder, in addition to showing little control over violent impulses and problems with both alcohol and other types of substances. He was asked to sign waiving his rights as a parent and legal guardian of both girls, to which he accepted without any objection. Social services were called after several notices from the older girl's preschool saying the girl had been absent for several weeks. In addition to having noticed a change in attitude and several bruises. The girls were taken out of the house severely malnourished and both showed signs of neglect. Both were put on the system immediately.

Foster-Home One: After two weeks of being in a group home, the girls were placed with a middle-aged couple with three biological children. Emma quickly became comfortable with the couple. Although she showed to be a little behind in terms of learning and development, the couple did everything possible to improve this situation. Several visits were made by different social workers and all agreed that the girls are in good hands. After the first 6 months, meetings were started to discuss a possible adoption. Although the procedures were initiated, they did not reach term and after a year with the family, both girls were taken to a group home.

Foster-Home Two: Young couple with no kids. Although this time it is costing a little more, the girl seems to have no problems adjusting to the couple and seems to be forming an emotional bond especially with the foster mother. A little over 8 months after the girls were placed with the couple, both girls appeared in one of the city offices. In Luna's words her "new mommy" was having a baby so they didn't need her or her sister anymore.

Foster-Home Three: Single woman, with no kids. The woman has shown concern about the attitude of both girls who are shy and withdrawn. After several months, she has shown her concern by not feeling significant progress in the attitude of both. Emma finally begins to be more open and comfortable with the woman. After 10 months with her the girls return back to a group home. The woman said she believes she is not the right fit for this case
