Our girls (Marina)

Chapter 8

"I'm home!" Maya said coming into the house seeing her wife in the kitchen and both girls sat on the table drawing with a plate of cookies in front of them. After almost an hour of Luna being asleep, the brunette heard little steps coming from the hallway. Emma had woken up and was searching for her sister that wasn't in the room. 

The toddler came closer to them and when she realized her sister was sleeping, she sat next to Carina being as quiet as possible. That didn't last long, the eight-year-old started to stir a few minutes later. 

"Hey! you came back early" the brunette said from the kitchen. The firefighter walked towards her wife and leaned in for a kiss "No, no. We had talked about this, shower first" 

"It was worth a try" the blonde said knowing she wasn't going to win this one "Be right back" she said making her way to the shower. Once she came back she went straight to her wife placing her arms around her waist making her turn around "Hi" she whispered before giving her a kiss, a kiss that was interrupted by the little five-year-old making disgusted noises 

"Don't do that" she said covering her eyes while Luna chuckled at her sister's reaction. Both women quickly pulled apart and looked at the girl picking through her fingers to see if she could look now making both women laugh "Look!" the little blonde said getting off the chair showing the women the picture she had drew

"Look at that!" the brunette said kneeling in front of her "That's going on the fridge for sure!" 

"Let me see" Maya said kneeling as well "you should be so proud, It's so beautiful" she said making the girl look down at her drawing 

"It is?" she asked and both women in front of her nodded "That's 'Rina, and Maya and sissy and me" she said poiting to each of them on the picture. 

"It's beautiful, want to help me put it on the fridge?" the brunette asked and the toddler nodded eagerly. 

While Carina picked Emma up and put the drawing on the fridge the blonde walked towards Luna who was still sat on the table focused on her drawing. She sat next to her and smiled when she saw the little girl look up and flash her a smile "and what are you drawing?" she asked softly to the girl 

"Flowers" she answered not looking up 

"Flowers?" she asked and the girl nodded "Can I see?" she said and the girl slowly nodded handing her the paper with the drawing "That's... amazing where did you learn to draw like that?" she asked praising the kid. Luna just shrugged and smiled looking down. Maya was about to give Luna her drawing back when the girl shook her head "Don't you want it back?"

"No" the girl aswered "For you" she simply said "Good luck flowers" she said taking another cookie from the plate in front of her. It wasn't hard for Luna to realize what was the blonde's job. The clothes and the smoky smell... yeah it wasn't hard. Still she didn't say anything until one day that she asked. Of course the couple tried to make it fun, they didn't want the girls to be scared of it and it did work with Emma but Luna knew being a firefighter was dangerous. She understood Maya helped others and enjoyed her job but she also knew she had to jump into fires to do that.

Maya smiled as she folded the drawing and put it in her pocket 

As Maya looked at the girl start a new drawing she felt Emma tugging on her sleeve. Maya smiled placing her in her lap "Can I have one more cookie?" the girl asked looking at Carina who has just sat in front of them. The kid had already had enough cookies and Carina had already told her that was the last one. The thing is that happened three cookies ago, apparentely the brunette was a softie when it came to the toddler's puppy eyes "P'ease?" she said with pleading eyes
