Our girls (Marina)

Chapter 12

It had been a while since the girls had arrived and everything was going too well, so well that it was a little scary. Not just for the adults, Luna had this feeling all the time that something bad was going to happen. Which made her more alert than usual. The kid was having a quiet day and the couple noticed that but decided to not mention it 

"Emma, come to the table" said the brunette finishing serving the dishes. Emma, who until now had been playing with some of her toys, looked at her but decided that she was not hungry and that she wanted to continue playing "Emma please come to eat" she said with a slightly more serious tone without stopping being gentle. The girl snorted and continued playing without paying attention. At this Carina approached the girl, kneeling in front of her "Emma I need you to go to eat or I will have to put you on time out" The five-year-old frustrated at not being able to continue playing hit her toy on the floor "That's it, we don't slam things in this house" the brunette said standing up 

As soon as the woman did, the five-year-old panicked and searched for her sister. Carina quickly picked her up and began walking towards her room. The little girl wasn't making it any easier, she was kicking while she reached her arms to the eight-year-old who felt how her chest clenched at the sight

"Luna..." the little blonde said between sobs making grabby hands towards her sister "Don't hit me please, I'll be good" she begged making the brunette stop in her tracks

Luna who until know had been sitting at the table looking at some book, not really paying attention to her sourrandings while she waited became alert when she heard her sister's sobs 

"She's sorry" she said looking at Carina, feeling her own eyes well up with tears "She'll behave" she said now to Maya who until now had stayed quiet. The kids had behaved pretty well until now, this was the first time one of them acted up so she was really trying to think about the best way to react. 

The little five-year-old nodded desperately looking at the brunette 

"I'm not gonna hit you bambina" the brunette explained placing the girl on the ground, crouching down in front of her "Neither Maya nor me would ever, ever hit you... We don't do that here" she said as the girl looked down "But you were not listening so I have to put you on time out"

"I promise I'll listen" the girl said now looking up, making Carina's heart break a little at the sight of the tear stain toddler's face 

"Okay" she whispered standing up and leading the girl to the table 

Later that day they had decided to go out, nothing fancy just hanging out and hoping to clear their minds. The sun began to set so it was time to go home. Luna had no problem with that, she liked being home but Emma was not so happy about it

She started to complain before they even started their way home, Maya was tasked with carrying the girl to the car and by the time she placed her in her car seat, the girl was having a full on temper tantrum. The trip home was so loud Luna had to cover her ears with her hands in hopes of muffling the sounds. The good thing is it was only a five minutes drive

"I know you are upset, but you need to calm down" Carina said softly to the crying toddler 

"But I want... the park" the five-year-old said the best she could 

"I understand that, but you know better than to cry and scream" she said to the kid that was calming down slowly "Now we are going to go take a shower and then come back here and pick a movie si?" 

Emma was definitely having an off day. As soon as she heard the woman she started fussing again, she didn't want to shower. Carina picked her up trying to take her to the bathroom but the kid was not having it so she started kicking and moving traying to get off the woman's grip. One of those moves caused the little girl to accidently punch the woman on the shoulder.
