My soul laid bare, for the world to see
Their scrutinizing eyes, fixated upon me
Picking apart, every mistake
Their words, as biting as a snake
Holding nothing back
Now that I have no secrets left
Damaging me, they attack
Letting me know what they think of me
From my too pale skin, to my atrocious personality
I can't fit in, I don't like this reality
I leave, hoping to find
A place, where people will be kind
Where flaws are accepted
Where blemishes are worn proud
Where you don't have to hide your face
Behind that misery woven shroud
After searching
For many a day
After walking so far
I found that place
Now I am kneeling, at his feet
Offering myself up to him, cowardly
"Get up child"
He says
"There is nothing to be ashamed of"
God says
I found a place
Where I am accepted
I found a place
No longer am I dejected
I found a place, I can be me
I found a place, finally, I am happy
