The Stone

My love for you is set in stone,

But in this love I'm alone.

Ordinary stones wither away with time,

But not mine darling, not mine.

Still as timeless as the day we met,

Smooth and pure, unmarred.

But my face you did forget,

Even though I see yours in the stars.

Even though we've both grown older,

You are still so beautiful to me.

And even though I get cold shouldered,

My undying love won't let me flee.

My stone is still never ending,

And yet you still went away.

To my wishes I am tending,

I love you more every day.

You flew high above the clouds,

Without a thought for me.

While I am left here on the ground,

Watching you soar free.

It pains me to let you go,

More so then I can bear.

But when you see me, recognition doesn't show,

In your face, so I will get out of your hair.

My stone is still pure,

No chips or cracks or anything.

But nonexistent, cracked is yours,

Withered away to nothing.
