When Nicos not at camp (Book the second)

Harry Ron and I are sitting in the hospital wing. looking into Hermiones petrified face. "This is pointless." I growl. "She doesn't even know we're here. her consciousness is trapped in the void between life and death." But harry and ron don't hold it against me. they know I still blames myself for what happened to her. but then Harry notices a piece of paper jammed into her fist. He carefully pulls it out and unfolds it. His eyes widen as he reads it. He shakily hands the paper Ron and me. I swear loudly. "that was the one thing I was hoping it wasn't." Ron frowns. "you knew it could have been a basilisk and you didn't mention anything?" I rolls my eyes. "all we knew was that it petrified people and scared spiders. theres like 1000 different monsters that fit those criteria." but just then an announcement goes off over the loudspeaker. all the students are to return to their dorms while the teachers assembled in the 2nd floor corridor. so naturally the three boys run as quick as they can to the second floor.

Ron is mumbling like an idiot. My poor sister this and taken by the monster that. so I slap him upside the head. that seems to snap him out of it. He turns towards me. "do you know how to kill a basilisk?" I nod. "Theres a chink in its armor. right behind its skull five scales come together to leave a star shaped gap of exposed skin. unless either of you happen to have a rooster that would also do it."

we run to lockharts office to find him rapidly packing a bag. "Youre leaving?" Harry says. "But what about all thqt stuff you wrote about in your books." "My dear boy!" Lockhart shouts. "Books can be misleading. after all my books wouldn't have sold half as well if people didn't think id done all those things!" I gasp. "What, you mean you made it all up?" "Yes." He responds. "Oh my gods. im so fucking shocked." and I punch him square in the diaphragm. he falls to the ground gasping for breath and I kick him twice in the chest. I feel his ribs fracture. "We all fucking know you're useless. But you're coming with us anyway. I grab him by his collar and pull him to his feet. Harry and ron are staring at me with their mouths hanging open.

Harry uses his parseltongue to open the sink. I throw lockhart down the shaft then we follow him. we walk through the tunnel until suddenly lockhart grabs rons wand. "Lockhart." I say. You don't want." But he raises the wand and shouts "Obliviate!" The spell backfires through rons broken wand and the entire tunnel collapses. Darkness. "Fucking dumbass." I shout into the void. Lockhart forgot rons wand was busted. I calm my soul and focus. reaching out on the spectral plane until I find Harry and another marred soul. I project my spirit out forcing it back into the physical plane. in a flash of light. my ghost materializes in the chamber of secrets interrupting the heir of slytherin as hes calling his basilisk. "Nico." Harry shouts. "its Voldemort." He concealed a memory in the diary.

"ah yes." Riddle sneers. "Nico Diangelo is it?" Ginny wrote quite extensively about you. Then you should know that I swore a solemn oath to kill you." I respond. Riddle smirks. "oh yes. im told you were quite fond of the ghost" Riddle muses. "But understand I had no intention to harm him. he was pureblood during his life. He sensed the basilisk and stepped in the way to shield the mudblood." I don't respond. "Diangelo." Riddle muses dreamily. "Your family is legend you know. Its clear their powers still live on in the line." He looks over my astral form with something resembling admiration. if not for me then at least for my magic. "Imagine what you and I could do together." Harry and I both laugh out loud. " "Yeah, im totally gonna join you after you petrified my friends." I respond sarcastically. riddle chuckles. "ah yes the ghost and the muggle girl. but you need not consort with such lesser beings." Suddenly im full of rage. "Harry." I announce. "Kill the basilisk. I will deal with this wretch."
