Chapter 13 New Horizon

The sound of rustling leaves in the trees could be heard in the distance as the wind gusts blew through the branches, the night air cool and crisp. Xiao continued walking down the dirt path in silence, listening to Aether's soft breathing next to his ear. A few moments later, Xiao rounded the corner to a valley and came to a stop.

"Aether, you awake?" Xiao asked, looking out the corner of his eyes. Aether stirred as he made a low grumble noise from being woken up from his short slumber.

Aether rubbed his eyes and blinked a couple times to regain his eyesight. His head felt fuzzy and Xiao's voice sounded muffled. His sight finally came into focus. What was in front of him left Aether in awe, his mouth fallen open at the scenery. His mind took a moment to process everything that he was looking at. Not too far in the distance was a two-story house.

"Xiao...What is all this?" Aether wondered.

The house was huge and in the style of a traditional Liyuan design. The front had a small courtyard which was surrounded by a stone wall with a gate. Aether could see a small garden off to the side along with a pond. Trees dotted the area all around the surrounding land. Each had lanterns hanging from the tree branches which lit up the area in all kinds of beautiful colors. They sparkled like the stars above as the wind gently made the lights from the lanterns dance as they swayed about in the branches.

"I bought this land and had this house built for us." Xiao answered. "I wanted a place to call our own. It's also not very far from your sister's shrine and the hidden hot spring." Xiao paused as Aether slid off his back and walked a little closer to the house. "I want you to feel at home here...with me." Xiao's words trailed off, his face turning a shade of pink.

Aether grabbed Xiao's hand and started pulling him to the house, making Xiao gasp in surprise. He didn't protest the sudden action, however. They reached the front door, opened it and stepped inside. Aether didn't say a word as his eyes looked around the house which was already fully furnished. The living room was decorated with things from Liyue with a couple couches sitting at the center of the room. Aether walked around for a bit, saw a kitchen off to the left, and stairs to his right which lead to the second floor. Down the hall he could see a door which probably led to the master bedroom and what looks like a bathroom as well.

"This...is it all for us?" Aether asked softly. He gently touched the furniture as he wandered around the living room.

"Yes, it's not far from Liyue but secluded enough to have privacy." Xiao nodded his head, stepping closer to Aether.

Aether quickly snatched Xiao's hand and pulled him down the hall towards the door to one of the rooms. Aether pushed him against the door and kissed him deeply while Xiao moaned Aether's name into his mouth. He wrapped his arms around Aether, pulling him closer, kissing him back. They both let out soft pants in between their lips, gasping for air as their kissing intensified. At one point, Aether reached behind Xiao, found the knob and fiddled with it before he opened the door to the bedroom. Xiao stumbled a bit as Aether was pushing him towards the bed, and he bumped into the edge of it and fell backwards.

Xiao landed on his back with Aether on top of him, their lips still connected together.
