dumbledore's plan

Sage had spent the last week contemplating if she was in the wrong with Draco. The two hadn't spoken a word to each other since she slapped him. She felt bad but he was being an arse.

Sage sat at the Gryffindor table with Dean and Seamus as she got their advice on the situation.

"I mean you aren't in the wrong Sage," Dean said softly, looking at Seamus for approval. The two were a couple now, Seamus nodded.

"Miss Lupin?" Someone asked from behind her, Sage turned around to see Professor McGonagall. "Can you please come with me,"

Sage turned to look at her friends, who shrugged before turning pack at McGonagall and nodded. "Alright,"

Sage rose from her seat and followed McGonagall to what she knew to be Dumbledore's office.

Once she entered she saw Dumbledore standing there "I'll be waiting," McGonagall said, visibly nervous as she walked out.

"Professor?" Sage questioned, "How? What are you doing here?"

"I snuck in," Dumbledore explained, "But this isn't the point, I met to talk to you sooner but I never got the chance. I happened to notice you hang around Mr. Malfoy a lot,"

Sage bit her lip "I mean I tutor him so yeah," Sage lied.

"Besides that," Dumbledore said, "It seems you care a lot about the boy,"

Sage nodded "I do..." she mumbled.

"Well before Lord Voldemort's downfall, Lucius Malfoy was a death eater. I'm afraid he still is with the return of Voldemort," Dumbledore explained, "I'm also afraid he'll try making Draco one sooner rather than later. I need you, Sage, to protect not only yourself but everyone you care about to find out if he does become one. Even if it means becoming one yourself,"

Sage looked at Dumbledore. The man was right on everything, everyone knew that. Sage sighed "Okay," she said. But little did she know, she wished she could go back and say no. The man was manipulating her, using her relationship with Draco to his advantage, using her lovable character against her.

"Thank you, Sage," Dumbledore said kindly "I promise everything will be normal soon. Know I must get going,"

Dumbledore disappeared.

Gryffindor Common Room

Sage sat at the couch with Neville "Then he just disappeared," Sage explained, after explaining the rest of the incident with Dumbledore and his plan.

Neville shrugged softly "I dunno," he said, "It is pretty weird, but it's well... Dumbledore,"

"Valid point," Sage said, nodding. Neville smiled softly at the girl, "But I still haven't fixed everything with Draco so I don't know how I'm gonna be much of a help,"

"You haven't tried talking to him?" Neville asked.

"Every time I try... I get nervous before I even get up," Sage joked, chuckling, "It's alright though, I'm sure we'll work it out. Anyways I need to get upstairs and get some sleep. Goodnight Neville, I'll see you in the morning,"

"Night Sage," he said and watched Sage walk up to the girls' dormitory.

Once Sage arrived the only other person in there was Elizabeth. "Hey Elizabeth," Sage greeted as she walked over to her bed.

"Hi Sage," she replied. The two were never great friends, despite sharing a dorm for 5 years. "How are you?"

"I'm good," Sage said, smiling. Elizabeth had long black hair and green eyes. Elizabeth's parents worked at the ministry, her father knew them somewhat. They went to school with each other, different years and houses though.

Sage climbed into bed as the other three girls started to arrive. Sage waited for them to get situated before shutting her eyes and drifting asleep.

Great Hall

The next morning, Sage was in the great hall enjoying breakfast. Her OWLS were the next day. She still felt like she barely learning anything in any subjects. The school was tough, anyone would agree, but it was tougher when you weren't learning.

Sage took a bite of her toast "Owls tomorrow?" Sage said, covering her mouth with her hand, she swallowed, "Nervous?"

Dean smiled nervously "Of course I am," he answered, "My parents are strict about my grades,"

Seamus shrugged "I don't think being nervous will help," He said, "So not really,"

"Well, it's different for us..." Sage mumbled, "We haven't learned jackshit all year because of Professor Umbridge,"

"Fair," Dean agreed, "God I want Dumbledore back,"

"Couldn't agree more," Seamus mumbled.

Sage looked down at her breakfast plate, recently Cedric had been on her mind. It was random, but she couldn't get him out of her mind. His kind smile and how he was always nice to anyone, no matter who. Sage missed him still, she knew deep down he would if despised Umbridge.

Sometimes it helps, it helps her to think that he's still here, graduated like he was supposed to be instead of his life getting cut short. But he was the main reason Sage agreed to do Dumbledore and his plan. She wanted to get justice for not only Cedric... but her mother... Marlene.
