'Why am I so warm?'
Nathaniel's eyes slowly fluttered open before immediately closing when the light hit them. He cracked eyes open again, this time looking off to the side and saw the built-in comic bookshelf by his bed. He was in his room.
'How did I get here?'
The last thing he remembered was being in the cafeteria before dropping in front of everyone. Everything after that is a little hazy.
Figuring he'd better call Alix and tell her he was okay, Nathaniel went to sit up but found his movements restricted. Something was wrapped around his torso and he could feel his legs tangled up with something under his covers. Wanting to see what had him restrained, Nathaniel lifted his head up and saw a light tan arm draped over his chest.
'...'
He turned his head ever so slightly to the right and was blessed with the sight of his boyfriend asleep right next to him.
Memories of the school day flashed through the redhead's mind: Marc letting him borrow his hoodie, falling asleep in his arms when he dropped, and then wearing his coat. And while the memory was a little unclear, he does remember small snippets of being carried.
'... Alix can wait.'
Nathaniel lied back down and moved closer to Marc so his face was nuzzled up against his chest. And carefully so he wouldn't wake Marc up, wrapped his arms around his waist.
"Love you, Rainbow," he whispered.
