Picture: Andrew (played by Kenny Moffitt)

"There's my favorite person in the world!" Andrew exclaimed as I walked into my office that morning. Of course, I would find him here.

"First, I'm not anyone's favorite, certainly not yours." I placed my handbag on my desk. "Second, leave."

"Come on, don't be so cold." Andrew pouted. "I came to check on you. I heard you were at the hospital."

Turns out Lola did have a big mouth after all.

"Yes, I'm fine. Thanks." Was my curt reply.

"Anyway," He said, removing his legs from the table. "I should get going. Big case today."

"Because I totally care," I joked.

"If this is what one gets for being compassionate, then I don't want to exist on this planet at all." He dramatically acted out. He looked like he was reciting the prologue of Romeo and Juliet. Why was this man even employed?

"Goodbye, Andrew! Leave, Andrew!" I called out as he took his last steps towards my door.

"You females are all the same..." Was the last thing he mumbled before purposely leaving the door ajar to annoy me.

I cursed under my breath and walked briskly to shut it. Bastard.

Literally two seconds after the door was shut, someone opened it again. Without turning around, I exclaimed, "Andrew I swear to God-"

"It's just me."

I spun around to face Carter. My cheeks instantly started to heat up. I think he noticed, because he looked at the ground.

"Sorry," I mumbled as I turned around and walked to my desk. I could feel his gaze from behind.

"It's alright. Nice place." Carter complimented. He looked around my office thoughtfully.

"Thank you. I like it a lot." I smiled.

"So, what's up?" I asked after our little introduction was over.

"I just came up to check on you, see how you're doing..." Carter scratched the back of his ear nervously. I could tell he hasn't showed genuine feelings in a really long time.

"I'm fine, I swear!" I defended. What was up with people checking up on me so much? First Andrew, then Carter himself...

"You better take her word for that, mate..." Andrew remarked as he walked into my office again, but this time with a stack of papers.

"You are literally the most annoying human ever." I groaned. He slammed the lengthy papers on my desk and I shot him a fatal glare.

"That's just her way of saying 'I love you.' You'll get used to it soon." Andrew tipped Carter.

"I'm reporting you the next time, I'm serious." I mumbled. "What's this for?"

"Cancellation papers. The Kerensky case isn't going to close itself, is it?" He gave me an arrogant smirk.

"Wow, you are the most helpful being I have ever met. Why aren't you nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize yet?" I gave him a sweet, innocent smile.

"It's because I'm too busy winning an Oscar first." He called out before leaving my office and actually closing the door shut behind him.

I collapse back into my chair exasperatedly. The cancellation papers looked so, very depressing.

"He's that guy that got Melissa drunk on a Tuesday, isn't he?" Carter leaned in to ask me.
