Chapter 21

MINUTES, hours, days, and weeks flew by with the passing winds that were bringing in autumn. Before you know it, a month has passed. Ryder and his pups were thriving in Adventure Bay. Ryder had met so many people during the past month.
Everyone liked Ryder, he was kind, caring, mature for his age, friendly, funny, considerate, and had some really amazing stories that he shared with everyone.

For Ryder, this was a new start in life. He was thrown away by his parents, which was the most painful moment of his life.
It was a moment that Ryder never forgot. His friends didn't want him as a friend anymore, which was also very hurtful because Ryder had been knowing Jack, Oliver and Avery since he was in kindergarten. They grew up together and were always in the same neighborhood.

Despite losing his life in Adventure City and the ones he once loved, his new life in Adventure Bay was so much more better.
He had better friends than in Adventure City. Even though he would never have family again, Ryder didn't let that get that to him.

He had his pups and they were everything to him. All he needed were his pups, and he would be okay.

Today was Ryder's birthday, which meant he was going to be nine years old.
"Pups, I'm going to play basketball now" Ryder said. "Have fun" Chase said. "See you pups later. Bye" Ryder said, as he headed out of the house. "BYE!" all the pups said in unison.

Chase pushed the door closed with his head and then faced the other pups. "Today is Ryder's birthday! We have to make the cake and get him a gift!" Skye excitedly said.
Chase giggled. "That's exactly what I was going to say right now" he said.

"What gift are we going to buy Ryder?" Rocky asked. "We have to get him something that he wouldn't except us to get him" Marshall said.

"I know just the thing" Chase said, "last night, while you guys were sleeping, Ryder and I were looking at photos of ATV. He said that he really loves that vehicle and that one day he hopes he has one" Chase explained.

"Why don't we get him an ATV?" Rocky said. "That's what I was thinking" Chase said. "Ryder is going to be soooo happy!" Skye said. "I can't wait to see his reaction when we show him the ATV" Marshall said.
"Here's the plan" Chase began. "We don't have all day to prepare for Ryder's birthday party. So us pups will be looking at some ATV in the vehicle shop. While we do that, I'll ask Mr. Porter to make Ryder a birthday cake.
While he is making the cake, I'll have Carlos, Danny, Ace, Alex, Katie, and some others decorate the backyard with birthday decorations.
With everyone working on a part of the birthday party, we will be done before Ryder is finished his basketball game".

"That's the greatest plan ever!" Marshall said. "Let's get going" Rocky said. "Yippee! I'm so excited!" Skye barked. Chase smiled and wagged his tail. "Ryder is going to be so happy" Chase thought.

The pups were at the vehicle shop, looking at different ATV. Mr. Porter was working on a big birthday cake for Ryder's birthday.
Carlos, Danny, Alex, Katie, Ace, Julia, Julius, Mayor Goodway, Captain Turbot, and some others were at Town Hall.

Mayor Goodway offered to set up Ryder's birthday party infront of Town Hall. The pups agreed and thought it was a good idea because it was much more spacious than the backyard.

"What is Ryder's favorite color?" Skye asked. "Blue. He has so many blue things. Most of his clothes are also blue" Chase said.
"We should get him a blue ATV since he really loves the color blue" Rocky said.

"There are no blue ones here" Marshall said. "I have an idea. We can get one and ask the man to repaint it" Chase said.

Mr. Porter was busily working on the cake. "Time to pop this thing in the oven" he said. Mr. Porter poured the chocolate batter into a round baking pan.
He put on a oven-mitten and opened up the preheated oven. Then the baking pan was carefully put in the oven.
